You must've watched a different game than I have. Gasol is a big time player. Definitely more than a solid player. A high efficient scorer that knows when to pass. I agree about Garnett slowing down some. Both teams defense were great and the Lakers only scored 90 with Kobe in their first game.

Agreed. he just cannot be counted on in crunch time to produce offense on his own.

But that isn't a problem with Kobe. That's why they are such a great combo!

Pau Gasol is 4-1 as a #1 option(while bullying the opposition) this season and his fanbase is shitting on him tonight..

Shit, I dislike Gasol and his racist ways, but he deserves more respect than that..

Derek Fisher will be the downfall of this team.

Phil Jackson is the one that keeps playing him. I don't give a fuck how bad Farmar shot tonight. The Lakers were better with him on the court over Fish. Sasha too.

Lakers backcourt:

8/31 FG
2/11 3PT
22 pts
11 reb
7 assists
2 steals
4 TO's (these aren't including Fishers foorays into the paint)

LOL and these stats are WITH Sasha going 3/6!!!!

You must've watched a different game than I have.

I watched the game where the only player who stepped up in crunch time for the Lakers was Sasha Vujacic, not Fisher, Shannon Brown, Bynum, or Gasol. The ending score was 87-86. What game did you watch?

Gasol is a big time player for 36 minutes, but those last 12 minutes he is just a solid player to me. (That is when he is the first option like today.) When he isn't the first option the passing, tough rebounds are very useful. Today he was the first option because Kobe was out, and in the 4th quarter he showed us why he that can be trouble when you are facing a tough opponent.

Well his game requires a great deal of effort. He is not built for heavy minutes but is very efficient when he's fresh.

Small sample comparison versus big sample comparison. Not equal.

You could as easily say:

Lakers with Kobe 11-0 100% ball (November 17 - December 11)

Just sayin

Without Pau, there was always Marc Gasol and Pau's $16 million contract to play with.

Who can say whether or not Marc Gasol and another elite player wouldn't make the Lakers a big time favorite?

Marc Gasol 15 & 10 rebounds + $16 million player
versus
Pau Gasol 17 & 11 rebounds

Though I will admit I was wrong on Marc. He is not a scrub and is a VERY solid player. You were right on him.

But we are so much better off with Pau. We can run the offense through him. Takes pressure off everyone. Commands a double. Let's not get into this agaiN!

Alright, I'll explain it. I'm responding to this shit, fool.

With Pau, they might win the trophy, without they are 5th in the West.

Spurfan tries to make Lakers look shitty "#5 seed" without Pau "collusion" theories; and I post Marc Gasol's numbers to bust that shit up and add the fact we had Pau's $16 million to play with. That's the way this game goes.

Maybe, but I think you guys are just so easy to troll, that I would join in the fun. I don't really hate Kobe that much. Darko is the biggest bust. Drafted behind LeBron, ahead of Wade, Melo and Bosh, you would expect him to have a few all-star selections at least.

I dont care how much shots Kobe takes as long as his Fg% was good during the game. The lakers obviously needed someone to shoot the ball after the 7 minute mark. The rest of the team turned into pussies.

LOL 2 pts in the final 7 minutes..We definitely dont need Kobe :lmao...BTW why is our "MVP" Pau so scared to take shots & ft's in crunch time? Fuckin guy is a baller but shrinks into a lil girl when you need him to score in a close game..The team is definitely lucky to have a guy with balls of steel to close out games.

Big men generally aren't known as consistent closers..

Even though he's been inefficient on game winners throughout his career, Kobe is a better option at closing out games than any of the other Lakers perimeter players..that's why Pau needs Kobe as a sidekick, to close out games, at least that's what all the Laker fans in this thread have implied..

Not me. Has nothing to do with game winners. Has to do Kobe demanding the double teams when other teams lock down in crunch time. It has to do with 2 points in 5-7 mins
