CBN Exclusive: Five Muslim Soldiers Arrested at Fort Jackson in South Carolina (http://blogs.cbn.com/stakelbeckonterror/archive/2010/02/18/cbn-exclusive-five-muslim-soldiers-arrested-at-fort-jackson-in.aspx)

CBN News has learned exclusively that five Muslim soldiers at Fort Jackson in South Carolina were arrested just before Christmas. It is unclear whether the men are still in custody. The five were part of the Arabic Translation program at the base.
The men are suspected of trying to poison the food supply at Fort Jackson.
A source with intimate knowledge of the investigation, which is ongoing, told CBN News investigators suspect the "Fort Jackson Five" may have been in contact with the group of five Washington, DC area Muslims that traveled to Pakistan to wage jihad against U.S. troops in December. That group was arrested by Pakistani authorities, also just before Christmas.
Coming as it does on the heels of November's Fort Hood jihadist massacre, this news has major implications.

Fox News has learned that the Army is investigating allegations that five individuals attempted to poison the food supply at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. Chris Grey, a spokesman for the Army's Criminal Investigation Division, told Fox's Catherine Herridge that these are still just allegations, and so far "there is no credible information to support them". Nevertheless, an investigation is ongoing Grey said.

Two sources at Fort Jackson revealed that the five accused individuals were detained in December, and all were enrolled in an Arabic translation training program, referred to in the Army as "Lima 09". "Each of them uses Arabic as his first language", one source told Fox.

COLUMBIA, S.C. - The Army has been looking for two months into allegations that soldiers at a base in South Carolina were being poisoned, but a spokesman says no credible information to support the allegations has been found.

Army spokesman Lt. Col. Christopher Garver said Thursday the investigation was being conducted at Fort Jackson, located outside Columbia, for the past two months.
Army spokesman Lt. Col. Christopher Garver said the investigation has been going on “for almost two months” at Fort Jackson outside Columbia. It wasn’t clear who made the allegations or whether any soldiers had been sickened.

Garver said he could not release any specifics of the investigation by the Army’s Criminal Investigative Service to protect its integrity.

“I can say that, according to CID spokespersons, they have not found any credible information to substantiate the allegations,” Garver, who’s based at the Pentagon, said in an e-mail.

He said he is unaware of any arrests made in the investigation.

The investigation was first reported by Fox News

Army and Pentagon officials tell NBC News that the allegations are related to five Muslim Arabic instructors.

According to one Army official, "CID (Army criminal investigative service) is working it," but there's no indication the allegations are true. The official indicated that given the missed warning signs surrounding Muslim Army psychiatrist Maj. Nidal Hassan, the accused Fort Hood shooter, the Army's taking "any and all such allegations very seriously."

Army spokesmen from Fort Jackson didn’t return repeated phone calls and e-mails seeking further comment.

FORT JACKSON, SC (WIS) - The Army has been looking for two months into a supposed plot to poison soldiers at Columbia's Fort Jackson, but a spokesman says no credible information to support the claims has been found.

Fort Jackson spokesperson Patrick Jones said the Army's Criminal Investigation Division has been investigating five soldiers for "potential verbal threats against fellow soldiers" since December.

No soldiers were actually poisoned, according to another spokesperson, and it's so far unclear who made the allegations.

Jones said investigators have found no credible information to support the claims.
"At no time was there any danger to the Fort Jackson community," Jones continued.

Great example.

No poisoning. No arrests. No danger to the community, but some verbal threats are being investigated, all according to on the record military sources.

Sources unwilling to forsake anonymity say otherwise about the arrests, and point ominously to Fort Jackson's swarthy translators...

A local law enforcement official familiar with the reports who insisted on anonymity said Thursday that there was no attempt made to poison any soldiers, adding a rumor started when several disgruntled soldiers shot their mouths off late last year.

There was never any threat, nothing credible, he insisted.http://www.thestate.com/local/story/1164648.html

It's not like The State is some liberal rag or something, and South Carolinians wouldn't sit still for it if the threat was real.
