Wow...

Free laptops from the school, then they remotely activate the web-cams.

I'm sure they realize the kids might be naked in their bedrooms...

You mean the Title?

Well, what would you call it if adults want to spy on minors, at home, likely in their bedrooms?

its not that far off from what you did.

you used a computer and cameras to tell a women you knew how to find her.

No, had that one for some time now. Maybe he had too much wine.

Don't pediphiles love pedicabs?

You mean the Title?Banner is a near synonym for headline. Please see meaning 2 @: http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/banner. Title works too. Maybe meaning 5 of banner created perplexity, and weighs in favor of title. Cheryl Steele seemed to share your confusion.

Taken under advisement, WC. I'll probably just say headline from now on.

Well, what would you call it if adults want to spy on minors, at home, likely in their bedrooms?Parental or quasi-parental supervision, most likely. What you're you're talking about is by no means impossible, but it wouldn't be my first inference.

Didn't the school originally let the cat out of the bag by lodging a complaint about a student's spare time activities with the parents?

Schools function in loco parentis anyway, and in this case, they would appear to be merely monitoring the users of their expensive equipment, and giving due feedback to parents. :hat

Haw haw haw.

I don't see how anyone is defending the school on this one.

For now, the problem can be solved with a small piece of electrical tape.

WH just did, and I can't believe he did.

There is absolutely no excuse for the school officials activities.

The law is very clear about this. It is flat out illegal to monitor inside non public (or is it written private) areas without a court order.

With the way he responds to me, I take it as him laughing at me. Not joking about what he says.

Exactly, unbelievable that anyone would defend such a violation of fundamental privacy laws. Rep, Dem or Independent, most people would find this conduct offensive and an intrusion of our rights and thus a violation of our constitutional right to privacy.

Get with it people, it's just plain wrong. Americans should be pissed.

I should have blued it. There's no such thing as being too obvious, I guess. I thought a smiley plus har-de-har-har would do it. Seems not.

???

I wonder what my phone is capable of. I recently bought the Behold II. It has a sweet touchscreen, GPS, 5 megapixel camera w/flash. It also has what looks like another camera under the screen glass. Might be a light sensor, but some new phones have televideo capabilities now. Hadn't looked in the manual, or bought any additional apps.

Absolutely.

Seriously, how did this peeping come about? I heard they had the computers for over a year and only turned the camera on 40 something times?!?! I really doubt that! I heard if the laptop were ever stolen they would turn on their peephole to find the rat bastards (though none were discovered stolen, GPS people)but I also heard the administrated perverts turned themselves in, sort of, by claiming a kid was doing drugs though he was eatting candy. Arn't you suppose to have a warrant to go into someones house? If any of the children were naked, thats child pornography..........I really don't get it.

iPhone had to ban an app called BeautyMeter after a 15 year old girl uploaded her photo.

And this girl had no reasonable expectation of privacy -- in fact, just the opposite.

Revenge of the Nerds... Child Porn Edition

Obviously they would use it on sorority girls, not high schoolers... Come on...
