The blatant censorship of anyone who even whispers the words bench TP, in good faith or in bad, is anything but raising the bar.

True this is a private site, but this censorship of open discussion makes the moderators of this board look totally biased, it detracts from the community, it chills speech here, and it isnt necessary.

It is the worst thing about this site, hands down.

We, the posters, cant even discuss it?

Is it really that offensive? Detrimental to the team? to the board?

Not even close. The poster was not piggybacking criticism on an already hurt TP, he expressed a good faith opinion about something that would help our team.

There is no justification that you could possibly make for not allowing the topic to be discussed.

Grow up mods...get over your bias and allow conversation as it should be. Open honest and frank. Without your approval of the subject matter.

I have felt that putting TP the scoring machine with 4 role players is best for the team, while starting the best 5 other than TP. The offensive production would stay consistent and TPs D would be less exposed against 2nd string guards.

I think this season calls for desperate measures, and this would be a last ditch effort at saving our season.

Actually this is one of the least moderated forums I have ever seen. AFAIK there aren't even any moderators for the Spurs section - just a couple of admins who own this site.

If your topic was locked or merged (deleting threads is virtually unheard of at ST) it was because it was probably the 10th copy of a thread with the same content.

So for future reference I would suggest that if you use existing threads unless you have a new and original subject you want to discuss.

I've seen soooo many trade/bench/fire TP threads in here that your criticism is frankly just a sign of how new you are to this board.

The Parker hate on this board is sad. We might as well trade him for Jason Kidd. People seem to forget he was by far the Spurs best player last year. He was All-NBA 3rd team for a reason. I agree that the Spurs should be limiting his minutes due to injury, because he is the Spurs best chance of advancing in the playoffs. Tim and Manu will never be a 100%.

Stop being an emo. There have been dozens of TP threads with similar themes. There comes a point that duplication of threads ruins the readability of the forum.

Even then, threads that have a well-thought out opening post stay alive ... even if they are duplicate. Put down the razor and pick up the keyboard.

you know as well as I that a post about benching TP last season is not the same as a post about bringing TP of the bench this season.

I would love to see it, if only to see what Manu could do from the point with the 1st team, and what TP could do against second string defenses. I know, I know, that makes me a TP basher...

and you call me the emo:lol

If the same idea can't ever be repeated on this board, even under new circumstances, then there really is nothing left to post about this season, unless you want to limit new posts to our use of Bogans and...well... our use of Bogans.:lol

It wasnt my topic, it was someone else.
I think our current status warrants a fresh look at everything.
Bumping an old board bashing TP is not the same as addressing our roster this season, with 29 games left.

and you call me the emo:lolWhining about a thread being locked on a loosely moderated is definitely emo. Especially when you could just start a new thread with the same take.

Why would anyone support TP coming off the bench? Ridiculous. If he is hurting bench him. If he feels good play him. Simple as that.

This is the best post. If Parker is not healthy don't play him.

Its a great way to start the tank of the rest of the season and get a chance at a top lottery pick to build for next year.

Seriously, from the viewpoint of a hated "Lakerfan", this site does not censor jack. Your view on censorship here cannot be farther from the truth.

In my opinion, the only reason why your thread may have been locked/deleted or merged is due to there already being a million "Bench TP" threads. I don't post that much on the Spurs side but I have noticed plenty of these Tony threads and it became ridiculous at some point.

Just like there were 10 Kobe threads in the NBA forums at one point. Enough is enough.

Now I see so many "The Spurs are doomed" threads. Seriously guys, if you feel that way, can't you keep it in one thread instead of creating a new one?

The freedom you Spurfans and we Laker trolls have here is outstanding. I don't post at the censored, shitty Laker forums due to the "I am God Mods". But at some point, even at a censor-free forum like ST, the "mods" have to clean it up a bit or it would be chaos and unreadable.

Thanks for reading. FTS.
