The past 4 games, Kobe's numbers vs Mavs are pathetic.

He's averaged
15.7ppg 4rpg 3.2apg 0.384 fg%

Talk about getting raped by the Mavs.

With Butler, Marion, Stevenson, and Haywood guarding the rim, we are pretty well equipped to contain Kobe. That is all you can ask.

Mavs have really addressed the "Kobe issue" IMO... they have showed an ability to at the very least contain him this year... the problem is still Bynum/Odom/Gasol.

Has the NBA erased any data on the 50 previous Lakers-Mavs games ?

Gasol was no problem and Bynum didn't get much looks late in the game. Odom always steps up against us though.

Butler, Marion, Stevenson, and Haywood's interior defense were not here last year. No more weak ass defenders against Kobe.

Take a look at who the Mavs have now guarding the perimeter and take a look at who they used to have ( Dick Breath, Antoine muthafuckin Wright, hasbeen Howard, etc)

LOL I dont know about other Lakerfan but im actually hoping Dallas gets second seed. I would love watching you guys play Denver with homecourt hahaha Lakeshow would save a lot of energy if ya'll beat Denver since they play LA the hardest out of any other team in the west.

Lakers already beat the Nuggets last year. But going through 2 tough teams isn't the ideal thing. Best for the Lakers to avoid Mavs/Nuggets until WCF.

Exactly son..I still think LA could beat em both in a 7 game but it would take a shitload of energy out of them to have to play both of them. It would be pretty damn nice to only have to play one of them in the WCF if they get that far. :toast

You seem to be forgetting that Butler and Damp didn't even play. Eduadro Najera played at center for almost 10 minutes :lol.

So much intensity it let a crippled Rockets team take the Lakers to 7. They're not unbeatable.

LOL Kobe (http://www.pingceleb.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/kobe-bryant-and-shaquille-oneal.jpg)

Kobe Bryant is averaging 15.7ppg 4rpg 3.2apg and shooting 0.384 fg% against Shawn "Kobe stopper" Marion this year.

:lol Houston was just a weird ass matchup. A bunch of midgets that played ridiculously hard. LA isnt unbeatable but one regular season game doesnt change much..Haywood & Buter are good pickups but I just dont see em winning 4 out of 7 vs LA if they face each other. Good win tonight though.

I'd guess about 9 out of 10 "Laker fans" have never lived in southern California. Most of them just hop on the bandwagon because Kobe's face is all over the commercials.

So they need to cut the trash-talking like they got something and instead go back to following the Bucks or the Wizards or whoever their local team is.

LMFAO so now the Mavs have the answer for LA and are going to beat them in the playoffs I guess? Kobe coming off no playing for a minute and now his stats make him owned? HAAHHAHA I seriously laugh at this here.

Nope

Let's what Dallas does when they see playoff Kobe. Most likely? They'll assume the fetal position like they always do.

hmmm. lets see.

oct 30 mavs 94 lakers 80

bad game from kobe with 6/19. no excuse. good game overall with mavs.

dec 13. lakers 100. mavs 95

(kobe just shots 5/11, back to back after spurs game where kobe was orginaly hurt this season)

jan 3 lakers 131. mavs 96 lol

kobe shot 6-12. pau gasol just 3-3. obvious lakers lineup not involved offensively. vujacic, farmer and shannon have 36 points frm bench.

in three previous games. kobe just shots 14 FGA (42/3). kobe normally average 22-26 against mavericks. if kobe gets himself more shots he would destroy mavericks:lol but kobe try to play team game against this team now obvious.

and marion kobe stopper now? kobe burned marion in his prime when he used to played for phoenix:nope. in playofss, kobe will average 28-32 points against mavs again:p:

come on please. do not doubt kobe anymore when it comes to scoring. especially against the MAVERICKS??!!?? kobe is career 30 points scorer since he became alpha dog for the lakers. thank you guys.

Right, just like all the other times they faced Kobe in the playoffs.

Like I said, 65 in 4 games means more than 62 in 3 quarters. After all, he's going to be up against Marion, Butler, and Stevenson, not Howard, Daniels, and Stackhouse. :rolleyes

Doesn't matter what his % is, before this game he got them 2 wins out of 3. This game he looked like he wanted to feel the game for his teammates before trying to take over later on. That's the difference between 04-07 Kobe and 08-10 Kobe.

Talk about getting raped by the Mavs.

To be fair, in one of those games the Lakers beat the Mavs by 40 points and he didn't need to do much. But I will say this: for years perimeter defense has been Dallas' Achilles Heel, not Dirk Nowitzki being bad in the clutch. Tracy McGrady, Steve Nash, Dwyane Wade, Baron Davis, Chris Paul, Tony Parker in succession have all raped the Mavs in the playoffs. With Marion, Stevenson, etc, we finally have a number of quality perimeter defenders. You'll never stop Kobe from getting his 30, but you want him to take 30 shots to do it, and taking jumpers instead of driving to the basket, drawing fouls and getting your bigs in foul trouble.

Fair assessment... I'd take Tony Parker out of that, he does damage to your Mavs in the paint.
