Duncan has had one of the best careers all time.

Ginoboli has had more of a world presence. Of course, Tim would have dominated the Euroleagues too.

despite TD doesn't have an olympic gold on his resume neither a WC finals appearance; his career > Manu's

Why do you bring up the past!?! Cuz ur stupid! There is another thread called Second team an if I'm not mistaken a lot of you had a lot to say about your second team. I happen to live in Dallas & have for 17yrs now. So they are my second team. Thanks for remembering me though hater!

what exactly makes you say that?

02-25-2010, 10:53 AM
It's stupid to compare wings and bigs.

That said, Duncan is an all-time great big. Manu is an incredibly clutch, awesome wing, but he's streaky and has never been the foundation of a franchise.

Also, bigs > wings

Thus, Duncan wins.

jermaine
02-25-2010, 10:55 AM
what exactly makes you say that?

Look at what Nobili had to work with & won gold. Are you sayin Timmy couldve?

jermaine

You can lie to me but don't lie to yourself about this & this will settle everything. Who do you want taking the last second shot with the game on the line? Timmy in his Prime or Manu in his?

santymrc
02-25-2010, 11:09 AM
They are complementary.
Tim is allways there, bringing it, taking care of all, and Manu, well... Is just the winner, the difference, in Tim words the guy that makes things happen when nothing is working.

They are both as important for this team.

But for me, I'll go with Tim. He has done everything for this organization to make it better, not just playing but accepting less money, a class-act, you can't ask for more.

Now you're asking a different question.

Tim is the better player, but Manu is more clutch.

Are you serious?
Even though TD only played in the NBA, he´s had the better career.
Hell be considered one of the greatest players EVER.
I´m argie, just like you (I guess), but Duncan has LED the Spurs while Manu and Tony helped him.
Tim would have DOMINATED Euroleague if he had the chance to.

How do you messure his greatness ? , Tim would have dominated Euroleague ? , well manu did that (
One of the true stars of the Euroleague in the first two seasons of the decade, Manu Ginobili dominated on both ends of the floor for Kinder Bologna). If you will speculate then you can speculate about what could happened with Manu on another team, playing as the star, but this is not about speculation, you can't meassure that. Manu is not better or worst, this thread is senseless.

TD - one of the greatest of all time in the NBA
Manu - Great player but never considered to be one of the greatest.

Oh dear. Were you one of the ones saying there was no way the US were going to when the gold medal up against teams like Italy and Serbia? Foreign ball nuthugger. Ginobili is THE MAN. But don't compare him or any other power forward of all time to Timmy D.

Both of them are great.

Who cares. Manu would say this is Tim's team and that he is one of the greatest ever. Tim would say that without Manu, this team loses its soul. Together, this team has won three championships with Manu being essential to two of them. I think they would both take a championship over being named better than the other.

Tim Duncan is by most people's definition one of the ten best basketball players to ever play the game, and the very best to ever play his position. Manu playing elite ball overseas, is nice but by no means does that put him anywhere near Duncan's realm of all time greatness..

Manu is my fav player but I will have to go with Duncan. Excelling in NBA > excelling in EuroLeague.

It's pretty easy....

TD - one of the greatest of all time in the NBA
Manu - Great player but never considered to be one of the greatest.

I will second that... Manu is overhyped in this forum but very much underrated within the NBA.
