:wow Over 10 billion songs have been downloaded to date.

The old geezer who downloaded the 10 billionth song received a $10,000 iTunes gift card. :lol

I hope that stupid card would allow him to buy accessories and not just songs and videos.

iTunes gift cards and Apple Store gift cards are different. So if he really got an iTunes gift card, then he can probably only by music, movies, and apps.

Like another iPOD? :lol

I have 3,000 songs on mine, no way I'll ever get to 10,000.

I have over 7,000 songs in my collection with another 2-3k on an external HD...I think I may have 2 or 3 songs from iTunes. The rest came via whatCD and other torrent sites. I'm glad I helped get this guy a iTunes gift card though.

Thats what I was thinking. I would go out now and buy that new iTouch. Mine holds 7k songs and I barely have 200. The reason I have those many is because they rip you off on some albums where they make you buy the whole thing. Well I guess it not a rip off. For me and you that would probably mean free songs for life. lol

I hate it when they make you buy the whole album. That is totally lame if you don't want the whole thing. Well, that is...for the iTunes users...

I refuse to pay for iphone apps. If it's not free, my phone doesn't need it.

This. I laughed when Apple sent me an email wanting me to spend $10 bucks a month on voice guided GPS...

Someone else mentioned to me that its the Artist who decides that they don't want their album being sold song by song. That asshole Jay-Z pulled that crap with one of his albums. I think his words were "this masterpiece deserves to be enjoyed in its entirety, not song by song" The last decent album that douche made was 10 years ago.

Damn right on that comment, florige. I notice, too, that if its like a soundtrack they won't offer it up individually because they don't have the rights to.

I don't even know why I'm complaining--I don't even really use iTunes that often.

There's sites today that offer way more in terms of finding obscure stuff than Napster...and giving you access to the pirated world of music and such.

Right! Almost every soundtrack has it where you have to buy the whole damn album. Just so happens that the two albums I downloaded the entire album was pretty good.
