From Mike Monroe:

HOUSTON -- Tony Parker, the Spurs' starting point guard, missed the team's morning shootaround at Toyota Center with a stomach ailment that coach Gregg Popovich said resulted from food poisoning.

Parker's availability for tonight's game against the Rockets won't be determined until shortly before tipoff.

He's got to be the oldest 27 year old in the entire league.

"WASHINGTON, Sept. 16 (1999)— Although the United States has one of the safest food supplies in the world, about 76 million Americans suffer food poisoning each year and about 5,000 die from it, the Federal Government said today."

You're actually pretty lucky if you don't get sick from the shit corporations sell us.

Then add in the minimum-wagers who work in food services.

No problem, Tony should use the rest, if he's not real sick and weakened.

this where a player like Larry Hughes would be helpful especially if Parker is going to miss some games the rest of the season, Hughes can play spot minutes at the PG spot more effectively then say Mason and you wouldn't have to more around the rotations with Hill as the PG.

So right now during the Spurs should be looking at the waivers for a PF/C and or another PG

Back in the 80s when I use to hang out with some players, the flu and food poisoning were the catch all for hangover. I wonder if the same holds true today?

Just reported: Parker officially out tonight.

It's too bad that the big three can't and probably won't ever again be simultaneously healthy for a long stretch and in rhythm. Finally Ginobili is beginning to resemble the form of two years ago, so now Parker can't stay healthy and even when he does, because of various ailments and his being in and out of the lineup, he's never in a rhythm.

This makes the rotation tonight more cut and dried. Mason will definitely play and Finley probably will too. No excuses, Spurs should still win, as the Rockets are without Ariza, Lowry (and even though he hasn't and won't play this season, technically Yao).

dont forget their best player Landry is gone.

Yeah, but in his place (not position-wise) is Martin, not to mention more front court depth and length in the form of Jeffries, Hill and Armstrong.

Not sarcasm.

Trade him.

Playing this summer it will be a miracle if he can play more than 50 games next year.
