Yes I changed the title since this is basically what's happening..

It's no secret that the world's USAT/SBN Consensus MMA Rankings' #1 heavyweight and his management team M-1 Global can be a handful to deal with. Yesterday we heard Fedor might not would not be on Strikeforce's April CBS card. Then we heard that he might be fighting Alistair Overeem in Japan's DREAM won't fight Overeem unless Overeem passes a pre-fight drug test.

Now we're hearing that Fedor might not fight on either Strikeforce's April CBS card or its May Showtime card.

Fedor and his management team clearly believe they didn't get paid enough for Fedor's first CBS event for Strikeforce. They also have utter confidence that Fedor's value in the market place is rising. They're missing a huge bird in the hand payday -- and more importantly missing out on the incredible US market exposure that CBS can provide.

Then there's the question of how long will Fedor's fighting prime last? He coasted through his last couple of years in PRIDE fighting freak show fights like Zuluzinho and Hong Man Choi, a past his prime Mark Coleman, and an undersized Matt Lindland. In 2008 and 2009 he was unusually productive, fighting and dispatching two former UFC champs in Tim Sylvia and Andrei Arlovski and a fast-rising Brett Rogers. Now it appears as if he's going to be slowing his pace of fighting again.

Strikeforce is now forced to headline a CBS card with proven ratings disaster Jake Shields and a hot Dan Henderson who's coming off the most dramatic KO win of 2009. Henderson would be a solid headliner against a more compelling opponent, but even coming off his UFC 100 glory and coaching TUF, he's not enough to carry a network card. And if "Decision Dan" shows up instead of "Hollywood" Henderson, look out, we may see a headliner that loses viewers as it drags on for five rounds of lay and pray.

But not having Fedor to headline the card really hurts Strikeforce. That promotion is desperate for headliners with Gina Carano, Cung Le and Frank Shamrock all having been damaged by recent losses.

Fedor and M-1 may be killing their "promotional partner" by leaving them with no ratings draw for the April CBS card. They must be thinking that there will be another CBS card or equally well-paying opportunity.

Or maybe they're negotiating with someone else. And there's really only one other entity that can put together a bigger fight than DREAM in March, CBS in April or Showtime in May. And that's an entity that could offer a title fight on PPV in June or July against the biggest draw in the sport.

Scott Coker has to be regretting he got in bed with this clowns already..

Dana said he would put them out when he signed. If he keeps holding out and not head-lining their events, he may very well bankrupt them. How does Fedor sitting on the sidelines help his negotiating position any? If he puts SF out, he'll be lucky if the UFC offers him anything close to what the rumored big pay-day was last time..

At least Mousasi is no longer a M-1 mercenary ...

Fedor is my favorite fighter but it seems that lately he is screwing mma world for real. I already has to give up on him. he still has two fights in his contract and if he won't be fighting on April his career will occure to be not lead the right way

Fedor didn't screw anybody. It's all his manager and M-1 Global.

He could put a stop to it and does nothing. He, as the catalyst, is partially responsible.

Fedor got his shares in M-1 so it is not that easy to get rid of M-1 when you talking about Fedor.

Now I think Fedors career is over unfortunately.

It is starting to look that way. And what favor's did they do themselves by not signing with the UFC?? One fight in and Fedor's team are already unhappy with his take want to re-negotiate..

M-1 is a freakin' leach. But isn't Fedor part owner? He's not going to break off from them.

That was one of Dana's smarter decisions, passing on this deal. It makes no sense to front all of the promotional costs, only to hand half to profits over to some other organization. I don't care how dominant a fighter Fedor is/was.

:lol

They'll pay for freakshows. And Fedor has no problem signing the dotted line for freakshows.

Update

Fedor Emalianenko's Strikeforce Status Cleared Up...Sort Of

Recently, the internet MMA rumor mill has been abuzz with talks that pound for pound great Fedor
Emelianenko would soon walk away from his current employer, Strikeforce. The rumors began when Strikeforce announced the lineup for it's next show on CBS (to be held in Nashville, TN on April 17) and Fedor's name was noticeably absent (he was expected to take on Fabricio Werdum in Strikeforce's next show). Adding even more fuel to the rumor was Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker's recent appearance on ESPN's MMA Live where he announced that the promotion's hard-to-pin-down heavyweight champion Alistair Overeem would make his long overdue return in an as-yet-

unannounced May show against Brett Rogers in a fight that may or may not be for the belt. This is the same Brett Rogers who succumbed to a technical knockout loss to top Strikeforce heavyweight contender Fedor Emelianenko in his last outing. The fact that it would be Rogers facing the champ instead of Emelianenko seemed to be sure evidence that Fedor was on his way out the door.

In hopes to shed some light on this mess, MMAFighting.com contacted Emelianenko's management team and Strikeforce co-promoters, M-1 Global. Representatives for M-1 issued a multi-pronged statement addressing the rumors. They assured that the only reason Emelianenko is absent from the April card is because he needs more time to recover from the hand injury he sustained in his fight with Rogers, and that he would not be able to get in a full training camp before the fight because of the injury. According to M-1, the rescheduling of a bout with Emelianenko's original opponent, Fabricio Werdum, for Strikeforce's May show is currently being negotiated and that all is well between the two promotions. M-1 also dished that Fedor is considering fighting in Japan later this year (whether that will be in DREAM using that promotions talent-loaning agreement with Strikeforce is unclear). M-1 also confirmed that, despite some internet rumblings, Fedor will not see the inside of the Octagon anytime soon.

Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker spoke with MMAJunkie and presented his side of the supposed dispute. Coker says that his company has "been having really good dialogue with M-1 Global and [Fedor's manager] Vadim Finkelchtein, and I think we're in the final stages of buttoning everything up to make [a Fedor fight] happen again. I think we'll have an announcement soon on that, but I feel very confident we'll be promoting Fedor here in the near future."
