Stern's gift to the Lakers

Easiest start possible; let the mo build; then crank up the difficulty gradually.

Pretty sure it's the opposite. The higher the team is on the list, the more difficult their schedule has been.

This.

This is why the Mavs/Jazz/Rockets have the easiest remaining schedules.

The only thing it doesn't factor in is road games.

seems like that could be a pretty big factor... LA played a ton of home games in the beginning of the year, same as the spurs.

It was true prior to January.

But with that mega road trip the Lakers had in January; they've pretty much caught up on the road games with the rest of the NBA.

11 of the 16 in March on the road...this could be an interesting month for the Lakers.

I'm talking about how Lakers' SOS is now like .505, it used to be something crazy like .440 or something. Stern gave Lakers an easy all home opening schedule to get Lakers into their rhythm.
