Julie Foudy World Class Soccer player, Team USA

DeJuan's answers were both candid and canned. He used the word amazing a lot. He lives in 1 of Tony & Eva's homes. His Aunt and her family moved to SA to give him a piece of Pittsburgh.

Wow, really? How often do young NBA players live in their teammates homes?

I believe he is renting a house owned by Tony, not actually living in Tony's house. I thought I remembered reading that somewhere a while back.

When they were talking abut rookies, Skip said he'd pick DeJuan Blair out of the rookies on having the most long-term impact in the NBA. He could be right, he's got good instincts and plays very well for the limited minutes he averages. If he was on a team where he could start consistently and average 30+ mins; he'd have even greater #'s.

Thanks for posting. First time I've seen Blair in a full, all out grin during an interview. Nice to see that side of him.

Maybe in the future. But he's going to be averaging foul outs right now if we tried to give him 30+ a night.

DeJuan was smiling and looked like he was having fun. He's not a man of many words but that's not really important. What's important is that he wants to be with the Spurs and continues to improve and play well. He said that he felt blessed to have landed with a great organization like the Spurs and to learn from Tim. Not many rookies have that opportunity.

I really enjoyed this interview. I'm glad to see that he's getting some recognition for what he has accomplished so far this season.
