View Full Version : How scared are the Lakers of facing the Blazers early in the playoffs?

I think they're pretty frightened. They know the Blazers don't fear them and their chances of winning at the Rose Garden are remote. We have a surprise waiting for them at playoff time and I think you guys will be able to figure it out as well. :smokin

They don't want to see us!

2 months ago I would have said it's the one team the Lakers dont want to see. But since they are so decimated by injury, the matchups now back in our favor, and the breaking of the long drought of not winning at the Garden, I say bring'em on.

LOL Tlong still trying to get attention. That shit would be over in 5 max.

lol not at all since Steve "Nash against the Lakers" Blake was traded. Our chances of winning at the Rose now are about 2x your chances of winning at Staples. When's the last time that happened, btw?

When Tlong wants to be serious he has some great posts about basketball….Unfortunately due to the Blazers implosions year after year Tlong has become cynical, sarcastic & rarely brings a good take….I hope that once the play-offs start Tlong will post something basketball related…Or maybe at least post some photos of his last Cancun Vacation with paid escort service…

But Please, NO MORE naked photos of Greg Oden...:nope

I stepped on a couple ants this morning. Which was much more scary than the prospect of the Lakers sweeping the shit out of Portland in the first round.

A 100% Blazer team = Formidable

tlong, one thing I can say about you is that you are a dedicated fella. Cool :tu

As long as we don't get swept I'm happy... with the way portland has been I think the lakers would finish us in 5.. possible best case 6.

A 100% Blazer team = Formidable

Formidable in the regular season at home in a meaningless game. Portland did shit last season in the playoffs and the Lakers historically own their asses in the post-season.

4-5 game easy series, tops. Healthy or not.

5 games max ...
Playoffs hstorically we OWN the Blazers. EVEN when the BLazers were better (early 90's) ...we still beat the Blazers without HCA ...
2000 WCF Game 7
The sweep the next year ...

Lakers own blazer in post-season much like the Spurs own the suns ...the way artest is playing now we put him on roy and Kobe on Batum ...

Artest cant guard roy.

Roy can't guard Artest or Kobe.

The Lakers team defense can and will in the playoffs. They won't have to really worry about anyone else beating them.

Formidable as in tough. Didn't type that they would win a series or that the Lakers would touch their ankles and spell R-U-N
They're not a scrub team is all I am saying.

Yes, I agree, 5 games at best

I agree... lakers team d will basically have there way with roy.. in order for us to win games we need big contributions from the bench and batum to keep knocking his shots down from the outside to keep his man close to him and not helping on roy. I'm not sure how camby is with defense on the lakers bigs.. I imagine him and alrdridge will be incapable of containing the likes of bynum, pau, and lamar though.

Artest cant guard roy.

Roy with a bad wheel? I beg to differ ...

Artest will keep him from going off ...shut him down probably not. but keep him below 30 on most nights ...I bet he will.

Roy did torch him one game in the reg season LAST year but in the playoffs artest and Battier kept roy in check for the most part ...

No, last year in the playoffs Roy went off and put up pretty good scoring averages on a good %. But then, the Blazers ran him through a bajillion screens on every play so its not like he was destroying them one on one.

11 of your last 19 are against below .500 teams. Finish strong and you can catch the Spurs. I pitty the team that faces the Lakers in the first round.

That's the plan.. I'm hoping we can catch the spurs and do the old switcharoo lol.. I had high hopes for the season but with all the injuries and little issues at this point I'm happy to have a shot at seeing the playoffs.. in a series the only realistic ones we would have a shot at winning are against okc, sas, phx.

I think the Lakers are as scared of the Blazers as tlongII is scared of looking like an ass.

And sorry, tlongII, but I don't think you're very scared of looking like an ass.

I like to see TLong and Lil Penny sticking by their squads with all the injuries ...but they would be better served out of the 8th spot ...trust me.

don't the fakers have a really bad record vs. Conference leaders? they should be worried about pretty much everything

If the Trailblazers were completely healthy, there would be some concern here. However, the team is not all there, so even if the Trailblazers were to face off with the Lakers and find success, I think in the long run of a 7-game series, the Laker will prevail.

LOL we won in Potrland with no kobe, we almost always beat them in L.A.

We have beaten Denver, Dallas, (twice) SA (no kobe), OKC, Portland (no kobe), houston, and Phoenix.

Pretty much all those teams have beaten us as well.

Yet we have we STILL have a 6 game lead on the rest of the West ...

Can the Lakers lose to Dallas or Denver of course ... but if you were betting your house on it...wouldnt you pick the Lakers?

If i were betting i would ...just as i would bet on the Cavs winning it all ...I would be nervous betting on the cavs with the moron coach and the streaky support cast ...but they have been the best team in the NBA so far Lakers 2nd best ...

I agree. Just saying that Tlong's scared point is silly why would webe scared?

Blazers are not healthy they have minimal playoff experience, and no true low post threat, Andre Miller is one of the few PG's that can not blow past Fisher at will ...

Blazers in the playoffs is a GREAT matchup for the Lakers ...

Cavs are the only team the Lakers haven't beaten.

The bet has never been taken off the table. $500 says the Lakers make it farther than the Blazers. You keep ignoring it, you even backpeddled from it, and now it's time to step up... or STFU.
