From Fox News:

Gilligan's Island: The Movie" has gotten the green light at Warner Bros., according to Variety magazine.
And who does the classic TV show's venerable producer, Sherwood Schwartz, want to play Gilligan?
"Juno" and "Superbad" star Michael Cera.
Coincidentally, two months ago, we recast the classic 1960s sitcom ourselves.
In the lead role, we also said that the irrepressible Michael Cera should play the Skipper's irrepressible little buddy, Gilligan. (Small world.)
RECAST BLAST: Our 2010 cast of 'Gilligan's Island.'
We also had an even better idea, in our humble opinions: casting William Shatner as The Skipper.
That's right: the Captain of the Star Trek Enterprise playing the Skipper of the SS Minnow.
Can't you see him getting mad and falling out of the top hammock? (Although at his age, a stunt double may be a good idea.)
If you agree, give your vote of support in Comments below, and we'll make sure Warner Bros. - and Shatner - get them.
If you don't, tell us who you think should take on the daunting task of following in Alan Hale, Jr.'s footsteps!

This shit is going to suck. But, this is the first time in the history of Michela Cera that isn isn't playing the uncomfortable teenager.

Yeah. He plays the same character in every movie he's in. Just like Bruce Willis.

most 60s sitcoms have been made into movies by now.

Has there been a Hogan's Heroes movie yet?

What's funny a few years ago on entourage James Cameron was making a huge budget aquaman movie, it was funny because it seemed stupid as hell, nobody likes aquaman and it sounded like a another boring vanilla manufactured comic movie.

A few years, guess what? aquaman, the movie, who would have ever thought

Avatar had been in pre-production for like a decade. That remark was not just off the cuff. Just like T2, Avatar had to wait for the technology to catch up to his vision of the movie.

Outta curiosity, Cyrano, do you listen to 1310 The Ticket?

Michael Cera is still pretty "awesome possum", but yeah, this movie has NO CHANCE of being good.

The Gilligan's Island movie will be bad, but not nearly as bad as this one will be.

I'm not a 3 Stooges fan, so a remake of one of their movies wouldn't appeal to me at all. Now a biopic would be interesting, especially with the actors involved so far, but that's unlikely with the Farrelly's directing.
