PORTLAND, Ore. -- Portland Trail Blazers center Joel Przybilla needs surgery again on his right patella tendon after he slipped in the shower (http://www.spurstalk.com/forums/#) at his home, according to a report on the Blazers' Web site. Przybilla re-ruptured his tendon Saturday morning while at his home in Milwaukee, Wis., the report said. He's expected to undergo surgery this week.

Przybilla's original injury occurred Dec. 22 in a game against the Dallas Mavericks and he underwent season-ending surgery later that week. He averaged 4.1 points, 7.9 rebounds and 1.4 blocks in 30 games prior to being hurt. It's not known when he will be back on the court for the Blazers.

In addition to Przybilla, center Greg Oden also suffered what is believed to be a season-ending injury earlier this season. The injuries led the team to trade Steve Blake and Travis Outlaw for center Marcus Camby just prior to the league's trade deadline.

Camby has suffered a pair of minor ankle injuries during his stint with the Blazers so far. He is questionable for Portland's Sunday night game with the Denver Nuggets.

Huh, terrible news. This was already a career-altering/ending injury without this setback.

Would you risk it if you're Portland?..

Oden was a beast before he got hurt, he was playing like a top 3 defender, so he obviously helps..I think it might be a big risk to bring him back too soon though, although I guess it could be better if they only plan on playing him 15/20 MPG now that they got Camby..

As for the Pryzbilla news, this is just getting ridiculous..somebody in Portland fucked up with some bad karma..

Don't worry guys, the Blazers are gonna dedicate tonight's game to Przybilla for re-injuring himself in the shower and put an ass whooping on the Nuggets. Nuggets better be ready for it.

Angel_Luv can use this as proof that there is a god, since there's obviously some sort of higher power that's pissed off at the Blazers

Yes, it was a fracture, so if the bone is completely healed, the doctors give their clearance and there's no muscle atrophy or serious conditioning issues, I would - or at least I'd give it a try to see how he responds. As you say, he's very probably going to play limited minutes as a 3rd/4th big, behind Camby and LMA and sharing time with Howard, because he'll probably be out of game shape and form necessary to play more time (or at least to play more time giving a positive contribution). Still, in limited minutes vs. others teams backups he can a big factor in terms of rebounding+defence. Sometimes a little contribution can help you winning a series.

Homes and bathrooms are where most accidents occur, and driving close to your home is wear most auto accidents occur. Home Is Where The Danger Is :)

They should have security cameras on the Blazers' homes 24/7 to prevent these injuries. :lol

Well, he becomes a very attractive trade target for any team looking to dump salary. 7.4M expiring contract, 80% of which will be paid by insurance.
