ABC sucks. Terrible station for the NBA. CBS was cool back in the 80s while NBC was awesome.

NBA on NBC was the best thing ever. It was practically the theme song of the Bulls.

I like how CBS would recap the previous games of a series during their intros

How is it possible that this John Tesh person can be so awesome and totally suck at the same time?

Gotta go with this one. Not only was it the best intro I have ever seen, but it was for the most important series in NBA history.

CBS and NBC knew how to build drama for a Game 7...hell any game. What does ABC give us? "This is how a heart breaks" by Rob Thomas x 100 :bang Whoever came up with that shit oughta be shot.

Hate ABC. Hate the studio guys, hate the commentators, hate the presentation. It sucks.

The 81 Finals introl had a 70s feel to it.

I miss watching sports in the 80s. Lakers vs Celtics, George Brett and the Royals, Dale Murphy with the Braves, the Saints Dome Patrol on defense. Man, good times.

I actually feel like I got cheated by not having my 2004 Pistons win on NBC. It was somehow disrespectful that I had to endure ABC's sub-par NBA broadcast to my team's victory...

John Tesh, man...

This is why you can't consider the Spurs a dynasty since 3 of their championships were on ABC.

I never noticed before watching that clip but if you squint just right that theme sounds like it could be the soundtrack to a 1st generation nintendo game...

+1.

Combine the detail of that intro with modern production values (I'm talking graphics, not Rob Thomas) and it would be pretty sweet.

Good stuff; unfortunately NBC has been doing pretty shitty so I don't think they'll be in a position to make a NBA deal.

NBA on NBC was the best by far.

nowadays we have fucking beyonce dancing or some other RnB/hip-hop garbage most of the time as an 'intro theme'...

the best pre-game intro was the old jordan bulls pre-game intro

Isn't NBC losing the Olympics in 2012 anyways? I mean, I'm not sure on that--but to get the NBA back on NBC would be interesting. That was the channel in which I grew up on...

Isnt this the song where they show that animation of the bulls running thru the city and entering the stadium? I like that animation! Texas football have a similar animation with the longhorns, looks awesome.

I dont know if having the NBA back on NBC is such a good thing. Do you remember when the USA National Basketball team was on NBC. Those bitches didnt allow ANY youtube highlights or videos to be posted. It was the gayest shit ever. I couldnt deal with not being able to see a nice highlight reel on youtube.

"Sirius" by the Alan Parsons Project, is the name of the Bulls intro tune. I agree that it is the best ever intro.

I once heard a John Tesh interview where he talked about the origin of the NBA theme. He had been commissioned to do it but had no ideas. He was touring in Europe somewhere and woke up in the middle of the night with the theme in his head. He called home and sang it into his answering machine. He didn't remember he did that until he got home and listened to his messages. When he heard himself he remembered doing it but thought it had been a dream.

The 81 Finals introl had a 70s feel to it.

'81 was still more like the '70s than the '80s. The '80s as we know it in a pop culture sense didn't really start till 1982 or '83.
