The skinnier he gets, the higher he jumps. Looks like he can still lose 5-10 more pounds.

He had a 38" vertical when they did the measurements coming out of college IIRC..he's lost weight and added explosiveness since then, so it might be a little higher..I imagine it'll be even better if he loses a little more weight in the Summer like timvp said..

Good lord, the Spurs were rocking tonight.

From the highlights, I saw an oop to Hill, a Manu dunk, Jefferson going strong, and then this masterpiece by Malik.

I love this fricking team!

As far as Hairston, remind ya'll of anyone?

Nice dunk but IMO he didn't get off the floor that high .. I think Hill elevated higher on his dunk.
Hairston had a 38" verticakl in college, Hill 37.5".. both probably jump higher today though.

It's not the elevation on this one, it's WHERE HE TOOK OFF, and the length and hangtime. It's not a baseline dunk, it's on about a 45 degree angle, and he took off with just a toenail on the lane line. FUCK, that was nasty.

Pop really needs to start giving Malik more minutes. He is looking more and more like he is comfortable in Pop's system and could be a real asset come playoff time. Giving him very few minutes in garbage time is good for his confidence but, let him get some good experience earlier in the game. jmho

He took off almost too early. Looks like he was coming down when he arrived at the basket. Pop surely must have winced at such athleticism. :)

Great to see him with the confidence to be open to the opportunity and grab it.

Spurs' need for an athlete is answered but addressed by benching. What is wrong with the thinking down there these days? Two guys that should get no less than 10 minutes a game to help keep guys like Duncan, Dyess and Ginobili fresh.
