The coolest motherfucker on the planet.

Not recent, but apparantly he didn't like the music industry ripping people off so he told people to steal his music off the internet for free and give it to their friends too :wow. Left his record company after that which is why he made his last album free. Not recent but I always wondered why it free.

NIN > all.

He most likely made the vast majority of those millions touring and not off record sales.

Reznor's awesome, no doubt. It's a little easier to tell record labels to fuck off when you're already established....re: Radiohead, Bowie, NIN et al.

Still, it's nice that he's giving back to his fans though.

Going on tour makes a shit lot more. This may as well have been a marketing move on his party. Smart, I suppose.

Yeah. You gotta remember that artists don't make money off album sales unless they do it themselves. Record companies are modern day slave runners. You're hurting the company not the artist. You can't download a concert ticket or a tshirt.

My favorite NIN album is definitely Strobe Light.

Whoa. Never seen that one. When did that come out? Also, it looks like he's making a new disc. I thought he was going into hiatus for a while 'cause of his marriage. The honeymoon must be over.

Little late to the party here, aren't you? Reznor loved Oink and was pissed when it got taken down years ago.

He didn't mind signing contrcts with record labels in the begining to get his money. Now he has a bunch of cash so he pulled this pub stunt.

What probably happened was his record company probably f'ed him or pissed him off so he pulled this stunt.

He's been saying this for years.

Radiohead half assed it, Reznor put copiesrips of his albums as well as varying levels of mp3 encoding rips up to 320 on his site. There really isn't a comparison.

He's got the fanbase and the power now to tell them to piss off, so what?

NIN is the truth

Best album is a tie between Pretty Hate and Broken (even though Broken is an EP)

I think you mean his second to last tour. His goodbye tour I saw in Austin didn't have the light show I saw on YouTube. I wished he had it on this one but no. Either way I was lucky to see his goodbye tour.

I'm biased to this one. Who knows how it wouldve turned out if Ezrin wasn't involved. I don't think it wouldve been as good.
