I know we can't have him on the playoff roster, but what do you think about the getting ready for the playoffs roster?

Definitely. There aren't enough shooting guards on this team yet. :bang

I'd rather just play Hairston.

I'm so confused.:p:

Bell has the ability to spread the floor and play defense (last i heard he wasn't as good a defender as he was at his peak though) better than Bogans does. i'm all for signing him.

well if he can't be on the playof roster than i guess it'd be stupid to sign him, so nm

he's not playing this year and he'll want in the ballpark of 5 million per next year.

Dude is 33yrs old, coming off injury...I doubt he gets more than the vet min this year or any year after.

Spurs tried to trade for him earlier in the season (for Roger Mason), so there's interest...but I don't think he's a realistic target until this summer.

Non-issue. If we can't use him in the playoffs, there's no sense in messing with the chemistry any further.

Now next season might be another question, but Bell seems to have regressed to a shell of his former self.

could be useful for next season.

Isn't the deadline to be able to sign a player that can be eligible for the playoff roster expired? I thought I read that somewhere but I'm not 100% sure on that.

Other then that it would just give Pop another old vet to keep from developing younger talent such as Hairston.

Players had to be waived before the 1st of March to be eligible for the playoffs.

He hasn't been a "lockdown defender" since the 2007 all star break. Wouldn't do much for SA at all.

He isn't ready to play now. AFAIK, his time frame is about the same as Parker's: the last few games. The NYK are reportedly interested. I'm not, for this season, anyway. Next year? For vet min? Sure.

But, but, but, if he can't get PT on the Warriors and they want to keep D-Leaguers over him, he must suck.

/bad logic

What the hell.. let's do it !

We all know it's Pop's dream to play four SG + a PF.. we can do it by signing Bell.. then we'll have him, the centerpiece, Garrett, Hill and Duncan as our 2011 starting lineup!!

All logic aside, I don't really want him on this team. Even at the vet min. Would I be mad, no. But I don't think it is the best idea.

Well Parker out, we need another scorer on the floor. If Bell can come in and guard the best player on the other team, RJ can be free to score. That’s what happened tonight. He had to guard KD. So this will actually help us on this last 14 or so games, and Parker can rest more and be effective on the playoffs.
