The best thing bout NF imo is watching these tv shows one after another as opposed to waiting a week to see what will happen next. I could never have gotten into LOST or HERO' S on a week by week basis. Back to the topic, cheech and chong (allovem), one flew over the cuckoo's nest,Cocaine Cowboys 1&2,Maxed Out,Sex Drive,NOVA the science of dreams,Eraserhead,T2,The Entity, the Troma Toxic Avenger series,Altered States,LO,Primer, and obviously Lost and Hero's My Q has bout 20-30 movies in it but the damn lost/hero's addiction won't allow my brain to get into to anything else. BTW first time poster, long time lurker, from the southside 210.Mr & Mrs Ellis, awesome site.:toast

Those films were all streamed at one time or another, many of which are still available, but some might not be since netflix routinely adds to and subtracts from their selection.

No that's not why they take them down. They make deals with the distributors to allow them to stream their tittles. The deals are usually a year long. Sometimes they renew it right after it expires and they keep it up longer. other times they just let it expire and take it down.

Netflix streaming via your Wii, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and iPad will get a big boost next month. The internet streaming movie service has struck a deal to bring movies like Iron Man 2 and Star Trek to your consoles.
As part of a $900 million USD deal, Netflix will be permitted to stream movies from film studios Paramount, Lionsgate and MGM. Netflix's deal is part of an arrangement with Epix, the premium cable TV channel launched by those three studios. Paramount, Lionsgate and MGM movies will be available for streaming to Netflix subscribers 90 days after they premiere on Epix.
The latest batch of Hollywood fueled fun will come to your consoles and other Netflix streaming-ready devices starting September 1, when Epix movies begin to roll out.
If you haven't already signed up for Netflix or have been to lazy to get those streaming discs for your PS3 (lol) or Wii, this might be a good time!

It really was. I really started to dig Lisbeth the more the movie went on. They're making a Hollywood version of the movie with Daniel Craig as the lead. Lisbeth's part is still up in the air. I'm not sure how I feel about it. It's not going to be the same cuz I already know what happens....and so much of the feel of the movie comes from their locations, accents, scenery etc so it's definitely going to have a different feel to it.

I just checked netflix and zombie isn't available for streaming only City of the Living Dead :depressed
My bad, man... they had Zombie a few months ago but I guess their license for it expired.

It really gives you perspective on the "big 3" and the "3 tiers" something that I never even considered before. I like that I learned something and about a subject I enjoy partaking in, drinking beer. I just started watching the documentary called "Grass". No BS it started right at 4:20PM. Ok, so I was just able to finish watching "Grass" The content is a little old but necessary in order to give you the background needed to understand the time line. Basically it centers on the criminalization of the drug. It also exposes in minimal detail how the US government has tried to categorize Marijuana as this super duper narcotic. It goes through the different presidential terms and discusses the perspective from users and law enforcement. The only President that actually had the balls to push decriminalization for up to 1 ounce was Jimmy Carter. But because a couple of his dumb ass aides were caught doing harder drugs it was viewed as a weakness in the administration on drugs and the war on drugs.
It will give you totals for each era spent on the war on marijuana. That number reached a mind blowing 214 billion between 90 and 98. :lol Yet almost everyone I know smokes or has smoked a joint in their life time. I'm talking even fellow police officers, armed forces, legal aides, IT industry, medical and even a teacher and so on.

Season 3 is garbage.
1 & 2 are the best seasons, S3 goes way downhill i almost gave up on the show. The first 5-6 episodes are boring as fuck. It does pick up towards the end but still it was a terrible season IMO. S4 redeems itself though and it's right up there with seasons 1 & 2. So keep watching

Netflix, NBC Universal expand license deal
NEW YORK (AP) -- Online movie rental company Netflix Inc. and NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution have expanded their license deal that covers TV shows subscribers can watch instantly by streaming them online, the companies said Friday.
Financial terms of the multiyear deal were not disclosed.
The agreement adds new TV shows that Netflix subscribers paying at least $9 a month will be able to stream instantly. The shows include episodes from each season of "Saturday Night Live," every episode from the last season of "30 Rock" and others.
Netflix is working to get more customers watch movies and TV shows online instead of ordering DVDs by mail to save on postage costs.

Thanks for the recommendation! I'm really enjoying these documentaries. I hardly watch tv anymore and most of my time in the day is spent on my PC. So to be able to watch something informative and entertaining is right on my PC is awesome.
Beer Wars was very good. I learned a lot and it got me thinking critically. I've already recommended it to a couple of friends that are strictly heads and even they enjoyed the topic. Here's one that is pure comedic gold and also has some informative content regarding California's prop 215. Most people in Cali already know this but I learned from it. "Super High ME" check it out!

The Kite Runner is a beautiful film, lots of heavy drama (starts off in Afghanistan right before the Soviet invasion and ends up with the Taliban), and lots of tears. Very touching.

I know Luke Wilson is widely despised around here, but I don't mind him and this movie was a pleasant surprise. Nice. I just watched Remo Williams. Loved that movie when I was a kid but the last 15 minutes are absolute dogshit. Odd how you don't remember that 20 years later.
Speaking of dogshit, some of these movie recos are exactly that. I didn't make it through 20 minutes with some of them.
The Stieg Larsson movie adaptions are pretty good. I didn't read the books so I have no idea how they compare.

I can't get the words "Feed Her!" out of my mind. Arghhh! Brain bleach!
They also made the Human Sextipede

I've been mainly streaming foreign flicks lately. Sticking to Akira for the next day or two.
Oh, and the Netflix UI sucks dick. Why did they put out five different versions?
I have only seen the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, but it is a great adaptation and pretty faithful.

Really good flick and still holds up 6 decades later.
If they do go ahead and green light the Clooney remake, then someone should burn Hollywood down.
Yojimbo is another well done film by Akira.

Pretty sure it's not happening. The rumor started 4 1/2 years ago, but the remake isn't even listed with speculative/rumor status on IMDb. All adds up to equal dead.

I just signed up for the Streaming package so I could get some movies for a class I'm taking. So far it's actually been kind of a good deal. They've recomended some winners and some losers for me, mostly indie romance movies for me. Two of them have been so so.
http://cdn-4.nflximg.com/en_US/boxshots/gsd/70117594.jpg Don't judge because it has HIlary Duff in it. She's actually alright in it. It's no Precious or anything, the end was kind of hurried...but it's worth a shot if you're in the mood for a an angsty teen movie.

It's called "The Samurai Princess". I found it by wikipeding some of the movies people mentioned in the "fucked up movies" thread from a few days ago.
It's like the japanese equivalent of a cheesy, alter-universe, Japan, where androids and sword-weilders fight each other in battle scenes that are like half Tarentino and half Gwar Concerts. Fucking hilarious. Light up a J and watch this if you want to kill some time. It's definitely worth at least checking out if you like that cheesy "movie is so bad it's good" kinda thing.
Also there is a boob scene, for the pervs. Android boob.

That annoys me, as does the lack of streaming special features, but I understand why they do it that way. Just makes me more selective in adding things to either my streaming or physical queue -- bad dubbing isn't likely to ruin a cheesy movie about a Japanese school girl with a machine gun arm, but it would make something like All About My Mother impossible to watch.
