Can't be that bad. Try living in Harlingen. Gotta love that near 100% humidity.

I spent the first 18 years of my life in Houston - I feel your pain. San Antonio was actually a step up.

I lived in Houston till I was 13...the smog in the Downtown area was just disgusting.

I'm sure it is, but I come from dry heat! :lol

I'll add the roads to the worst list.

One of the good things is the cost of living here.

I'll add the roads to the worst list.

our freeway system/traffic is the best in Texas...

as to you and your low profile tires and potholes...just leave the Audi in the garage and drive the truck like the rest of us do...:lol

:lol

I'm back to stock rims! I'm sure I've managed to bend those also.

Btw, I also drive a truck...sometimes (aka when my car is in for service or I need to buy every plant in town). So I am part Texan.

as to you and your low profile tires and potholes

Gotta keep my tires!! Over 200 bucks a piece for those darn things! That is the whole point of having a sporty car...the low profile tires.

Streets in SA are just as bad as down here. I think the construction is worse here. Every little city here is having construction on the main expressway. Hence, the three major expressways we have down here! :lol

Definitely for the best list:
Valencia Hotel - I was shopping on-line for the best price in the downtown/Riverwalk area and Valencia seemed decent while their offer was the best. After staying in that hotel I can tell you it is much more than just decent. Great services from the complete staff and great beds!!! Also the interior decoration is not too shabby :)

You've obviously never lived in the upper midwest, where they salt and plow the roads. :lol

Burgers don't get any better than Chris Madrids.

Have you ever drove another 2 blocks south to try a Casbeer's burger? In my VERY humble opinion, I've never had a better burger than a Casbeer's burger.

In all fairness, I've never eaten a Chris Madrid's burger; once I discovered Casbeers, it was game over.

...But, if I wanted something closer to home, Billy T's was very good.

Speaking of close to home (as in my ex-home) - my favorite Sunday breakfast in SA was Twin Sister's over on New Braunfels. It was excellent!

I havn't lived here that long but Chacho's is awesome for margaritas and mexican food. Expecially their nachos. The "King Kong Nachos" are almost enough to feed an entire family. Buffalo Wild Wings is also a great place to catch a game and get some great wings. The Hot Barbeque and Carribean are always a safe bet for good wings. With 15 different flavors of Wings, I'm in heaven.

Chacho's is awesome for margaritas

you almost got it right...ChaCha's on Bandera has the best margaritas in town...

the have won the Express New "best" poll like 17 years straight...52 different flavors on the margarita menu, pick your tequila brand etc...the original top shelf on the rocks will rock your world!

They even had a "Spurs" margarita with the old fiesta colors...

are the flavors real or are they those bullshit flavorings added to a regular frozen margarita?

if a margarita has artificial ingredients it sucks to me. it should have tequila, triple sec(or grand marnier or cointreau), and fresh squeezed lime juice..anything else better be fresh.

Worst: Roads with potholes from one side of the road to the other.

I came into town since my future mother-in-law was having her gallbladder removed. We were in route to the Medical Center when we hit a pothole. It blew out my tire. Thank God for the insurance I bought at Discount Tire. I only paid $24 for the valve stem and insurance for the new tire. The tire I blew out was worth $200.

Went to Chacho's since it was mentioned here several times. Not that great of a place. You wait in line, get carded! What the hell! I thought it was a restaurant/bar...not a freaking night club. It was ridiculous! Way too packed. Wait in line again to order and then pick up your grub. I think not. I walked outta there. Didn't appeal to me whatsoever. If I wanted good Mexican food and great drinks, for that kind of atmosphere....I'll head to Progresso!
