Dude has been in the league what? 12yrs?? With 12 playoff appearances and his activity in the Olympics and World Championships...........he really has 14 or 15yrs in pro ball. He has to be worn out. He has more miles on him than ANY active player. Probably more than just about any player that ever suited up in the NBA. I just think Duncan is getting tired. Its just time for him to hand over the reigns to someone else. :depressed

to who? Ian?
let's face it. Duncan has been declining steadily since 2 years ago. This is not gonna improve. Let's be happy to make the playoffs and win a couple of games on round 1.
cheers.

Well, maybe Ian............if he gets a chance to play more than 10min. But, if we get Splitter............move Duncan to center and let Splitter get the looks..........kinda like when Duncan grabbed the reigns from David Robinson. Let him go out at center. More of a shot alter-er, rebounder and lay in an occasional point or two. IMHO :(

well Ian is not gonna take us anywhere close to the 2nd round. But I would not mind seeing minutes from him at this point.
It's either Ian or the rotting corpse of Tim Duncan.

With his ability to rebound, defend, block shots and run the floor, Ian would make far more sense as a rotation big. This kid even has a fairly high FG%, because he's posting up close to the basket. Energy, effort and skill are lacking when Tim sits. Hell, sometimes it's lacking when Tim is on the court on a 2nd night of a back-to-back.
I'd rather see Ian spelling Duncan for minutes rather than seeing Bonner clang 3's off the iron. It would make more sense to spoon-feed him minutes at the 5 spot, but that also why it's not going to happen. Much in the same way, it would make sense to give Hairston minutes, as opposed to Mason/Bogans. Again, it's not going to happen - at least not this year.
After all, this is the same coach that decided to bench George Hill during the 2nd half of last season, after a very productive 1st half of his rookie season. Then he decided to dust him off in the final game of 4-1 playoff series.

I love Timmy and don't question his heart or commitment. And I agree he's wearing down from all the lifting he's done for this team through the years. But I'm quite sure he isn't the player with the most miles on him, active or otherwise. Numbers dont tell the whole story though. Timmy's main problem has been a lack of help, for an extended period of time. Tony and Manu help take the scoring load off and set him up fairly well, but on the defensive end timmy has been alone for years now
Splitter won't be playing for the Spurs.
Do you just enjoy teeing up Oden jokes?
(Reminds me of that old joke, "I don't think you come here for the huntin.")

...............OK, but Duncan has his minutes in less years than most because of his playoff runs. Am I rite?

Duncan also played alot of college ball too, which some of those guys didn't do much of, or not at all.
