As of today:
2. Denver (47-25)
3. Dallas (47-25)
4. Utah (47-25)
5. Phoenix (45-26)

I'm assuming that OKC and San Antonio won't crack the Top 5 because of their difficult schedules. Here are the schedules for the 4 teams above:

Phoenix:

NY Knicks
@Minnesota
@Chicago
@New Jersey (B2B)
@Detroit
@Milwaukee (B2B)
San Antonio
@Oklahoma City
Houston
Denver
@Utah (B2B)

Utah:

@Indiana
@Washington (B2B)
NY Knicks
Golden State
@LA Lakers
Oklahoma City
@Houston (B2B)
@New Orleans
@Golden State
Phoenix (B2B)

Denver:

@Toronto
@Orlando
@Dallas (B2B)
Portland
LA Clippers
@Oklahoma City
LA Lakers (B2B)
San Antonio
Memphis
@Phoenix (B2B)

Dallas:

@Golden State
Denver
@Memphis
Orlando (B2B)
Oklahoma City
Memphis
@Portland
@Sacramento (B2B)
@LA Clippers
San Antonio

Epic fail Denver. Look what you've done.

Dallas probably has the most favorable schedule but they are known to choke from time to time. Utah blows on the road. Denver can't win shit without the George Karl apparently :lol :lol

Going with Phoenix as the two-seed only because they've been on a roll lately.

Who gives a fuck though when the Lakers will just steamroll through the West anyway . :lobt: :lobt2:

Mavs ain't getting the #2 seed bc they are allergic to defense

Girasuck

Jazz should be ranked #3 right now cause they own the tiebreaker with Dallas.

Divison leader superseeds any tiebreakers...

Nevermind. Just noticed that they changed the rule this year...

TIEBREAKER BASIS:
(-) Tie breaker not needed (better overall winning percentage)
(1) Division leader wins tie from team not leading a division
(2) Head-to-head won-lost percentage

As far as remaining schedules...Utah has the easiest on paper, but we all know we play down to sub .500 teams from time to time. Here's how I see it...

2- Dallas
3- Utah
4- Denver
5- Phoenix

division leaders get the top spots ....... unless one squad has a game lead and is not a division leader. I saw the same thing with the Celtix and the Hawks. Hawks owned the C's this year yet they're still the four seed ......

All 3 of Dallas, Denver and Utah have relatively easy schedules left. But the Mavs have been in a funk recently while Jazz and Suns have been strong.

Denver will drop to #5

I was gonna say that it was unlikely the Suns could move up from fourth but Denver's schedule looks much than the Suns' down the stretch.

Who holds the tie breaker?

Answered my own question....Phoenix is up 2-1 with one game to go. And the Suns blew a 20 point 3rd quarter lead in the one loss!

I think Phoenix beats them in Denver's last game to either take a one-game lead on them, or tie them, at which point Phoenix would own the tie-breaker.

It's not like there are that many games separating them at tied for 2nd and Phoenix at 5th. Phoenix beats them late, and that's half the current difference.

:lol

The NBA forum was all aboard the Denver bandwagon last year when the Lakers took the Rockets to 7. Hell even a few notable Laker fans jumped ship....

Denver is a joke. Mentally unstable little bitches with no balls. They aren't winning shit in this era. :toast

It wasn't just the NBA forum 21, I couldn't believe how many ESPN analysts were picking Denver saying retarded shit about how the front court of Nene, Birdman and K-Mart was tougher than Bynum Gasol and Odom.

Utah or Dallas.

Just because the Mavs have been in a funk lately doesn't mean they can't break out of it. People need to stop going by how a team looks in its past 5 games or so... Lakers had that 3 game losing streak and people were talking about their issues and a potential rift between Gasol/Kobe and now they've won 7 straight... etc.

I had no idea this rule existed. So even if the Suns own the tiebreaker over Denver or Utah at the end of the year, they'll still get a lower seed because they didn't win their division? That's a lame fucking rule.

Why are you comparing a contender (Lakers) to a non-contender (Dallas) again?

With the news of Lopez's injury, this likely means the Suns finish in fifth of these teams, and could slip to sixth... I don't care where so long as they get to play the Nuggets. That's their best hope with or without Lopez to advance. With Karl's issues, focus could be an issue, and without Martin, they are a bit thin up front. The Suns have played them very well this season, even when Lopez was out at the beginning of the year or when Lopez wasn't much of a factor.

Agreed

That was before Lopez was determined to be injured and out for most of the remaining games (and most likely all games). Now I figure Utah, Dallas, Denver and Phoenix, with Phoenix still having a decent shot at beating the Nuggets in the first round.
