The key to shutting him down is to separate his first and last name.

i can imagine what BlazersTalk.com looked like in the 1984 season...
"and we picked Sam Bowie over MJ! :ihit"

on a more serious note... you're dumb if you think Beno is better than Parker.

You are so right. I would rather have had Beno for this one time- game of a lifetime against the Cavs. Screw TP and his owning of the Cavs in 07. Nothing compared to what Beno just did!

I kinda figured that it was a joke and he has talent. He will have some good games here and there but unfortunately he doesn't have a very good work ethic or mental toughness (at laest according to Pop and his stay in SA).

Thats cool. Funny joke.

However, there are actual fans who probably believe that. Hard to figure you might not be one.

Beno has been playing well over in Sacramento. Good for him.

I wish we still had him on our team as I think he'd be better backing up Tony than Hill (I'd rather shift Hill to be our backup SG and get rid of RMJ).

03-28-2010, 06:24 PM
The Beno issue has nothing to do with Parker and more to do with Pop. Beno sure would be a nice alternative to RMJ.

haha... I had to look this up.... his last 3 games per nba.com:

18pt... on 6-17 shooting... 15as/10rb.... in 48minutes (they lost)
16pt... on 6-15 shooting... 12as/3rb.... in 42minutes (they lost)
19pt... on 8-13 shooting... 5as/8rb.... in 40minutes (they lost)

He's the number 1 option... high volume shooter... on a horrible team

I always enjoy how people choose their stats.

Beno is shooting 50% FG this season. He has the second highest FG% on the Kings behind Landry.

He has also had a total of 59 assists in his last 5 games. Beno has put together a good string of games. Be willing to give him his due.

Who won the game, by the way?

Who's the championship contender and who's the lottery team, by the way?

Anyway, Beno was/is having a pretty good season after sucking the previous one. He used the time with Martin out well and now he's using the time with Evans out well.

He puts up decent numbers, but the numbers don't create wins. The Kings way out of the playoffs this year...they were the worst team in the league last year. I'll pass.

Yeah and this is Beno's fault somehow.

It's Beno's fault his time in SA that he was lazy, and underwhelming yes.

beno is good, has top5 pg potential but he needs a winning team around him...if he can put up 20/10 thats good enough for a pg...

Beno is a talented player, but lacks the dedication/hard work and is not consistent.

Beno plays, Beno plays halfway decent, uninspired ball. Beno loses his job to someone else. That person gets hurt, Beno gets excited to start again, actually tries and puts up gigantic numbers, Beno gets his job back. Beno goes back to not really trying and plays halfway decent, uninspired ball. Rinse and repeat.

Dude has a ton of talent, and he'd have been a good backup point guard for a long time if Pop could have figured out a way not to bench him for two months after someone forces him into a turnover or if he misses a rotation. The Spurs knew what he was when he was in the draft, and should have known better than to draft him. As I've said a dozen times, I'm glad he's now someone else's problem.

He's got way more talent than Tony Parker, and if I had to choose I'd take Tony Parker over him any day of the week.

I always thought old Beans was talented, it was just that he had a hard time getting motivated.

The funny thing here is (I watched the whole game) his teammates bricked so many wide open shots he should have 20+ assists...

I hope he will be able to play good alongisde Evans; this way Kings could have a solid team that could even fight for the playoffs.

Beno seems to perform best when there is no pressure at all.

He's very talented, but I wasn't sorry to see him go.

Actually, he plays best when he knows his spot is secure. He is kind of funny that way.

No, when his spot's secure, he doesn't have to do anything, and he loses interest. He's only motivated when he loses his job and gets it back.

Pero

I'm not that surprised because the offense is run through him, he directs almost everything. But it makes me wonder how overrated high assist PGs like Nash and Paul are. Give Beno the minutes and run the offense mostly through him and he probably can average 18pts 11ast consistently. Surround him with better players and they probably make the playoffs with him as the main guy if he doesn't cave under pressure.

I do not agree. When someone gets hurt and he knows he is going to get to play no matter what, he plays better. When that person comes back and he has to compete for minutes, he is not a competitor.
