Pop is thinking there isn't a dire need to get a higher seed. We are in like sin. Time for mad scientist pop to experiment. Look for a record high 20 new rotations in one season (Correct me if I am wrong, genius).

6th or 7th will do. :flag:
8th would be a disaster -- the Lakers have the Spurs' number. But if the Spurs stay away from the Lakers until the WCF, something might happen. TP (the Laker-killer) might have more time to hit his stride. Or, although I cannot hope for this to occur, a key Laker might be out for the series.
4th or 5th might actually be worse than 6th-7th for the above reasons.
2nd or 3rd, well that's just dreaming . . .

Guess we'll find out how Manu's back is tomorrow and that should tell the tale. That being said, hope he doesn't try to be a hero and play if he's not ready.

shit, denver is at the 5 right now and they just might stay there. no k-mart and karl has really hurt that team.
maybe utah or phoenix can jump dallas for the 2 and we can land the 7th.. that would be ideal imo.

Holy shit, I didn't know Denver dropped that far, you're right lol. I think Dallas would be our shittiest matchup in the 1st round, LA included, so I agree 100% here

:lol i dont understand why most are afraid of utah.. i think that would be our easiest matchup still. the regular season record is deceiving.

If Utah stays 2nd, I want the Spurs to get 7th. Utah challenged this team when the Spurs were struggling really bad and 3 out of the 4 games were close losses.
Boozer and D-Will scare the hell out of me though.
don't forget about okur, who looks like hakeem when guarded by bonner.

I remember Bowen did guard him decently last season. We could use Bowe.... oh wait.

As long as the Spurs don't face LA or Dallas in the first round, I'll breath a sigh of relief. If they have to face both those teams, along with the Jazz/Suns/Nuggets, I might throw up once I realize the Cavs got to face the Raptors, Bucks/Hawks, and Magic. Two of their series will be serious, but they'll sweep Toronto like the Spurs swept them in 07.

If we get Denver we have a chance of the second round, if not we're fucked.

3 of the losses to Utah was right at the beginning of the season when Spurs were playing their worst basketball.
I'd pick:
1. Denver
2. Utah
3. Dallas
4. LA

Maybe then again maybe not. I argued in another thread that getting the Lakers in the 1st round might not be so bad for the Spurs. Heres how that goes:
Assuming that TP can get some time on the floor prior to the POs then the extra rest that the Spurs will have due to the way the NBA shedules the games in the 1st round, with 2 or more days off between games, will be beneficial. I fear that if the Spurs make it to the WCF and meet the Lakers then they will be tired and not as sharp. I'd rather them take a shot at the Lakers from the get go than wait till later.
But as you said anything can/could happen later. Players get hurt, get hot or wear down.
It's a crap shoot and we all know that in order to win championships most everything has to fall into place.
Health being the most important one of all.

I hope we get Utah or Denver, physical matchups, but we are best fit to beat either team. Mahimi on Kirilenko? sounds fun
