Low efficient player that plays poor defense. Pietrius and Mayo having their way while Butler goes 4-14 the last 2 games. At least he is tough. That is all he is good for. Too bad it's not a boxing fight and skills come in play.

Mavfan expect too much from Butler & Haywood..Its not like they were that good to begin with..The team they came from had some decent players & still were garbage year in & year out.

It ended awhile ago. 34 point loss to Knicks I believe is when it ended. :depressed

stack has been a superb defender for most of his career, and certainly all of this year with the bucks. fuck you

Butler is an upgrade over Howard simply because he's not an injured prima donna whose intensity and effort waxes and wanes from time to time. With Butler, you know you're getting 16 points on about 44-46% shooting every night.

Crackhouse is and always has been a piece of shit. And until Butler starts shooting in the high 30s, he's not down to that level quite yet.

Doesnt matter...Butler with be shipped off with Damp. Its obvious his game doesnt fit this team and the fact that he has to play SG doesnt help. Marion isnt going anywhere bc of his contract, so bye bye Caron

I just don't think he is a good fit for this team. At least not at the 2. As a backup 3 I would be fine with. This team seems too stagnant with Butler out there. He is not a playmaker. Kidd is asked to do too much of the playmaking.

Wait, why would the Mavs ship Butler? He's a decent pickup and I thought he actually plays solid defense most of the time.

For an upgrade in the offseason, Inshallah.

All I know is that Butler is as good at Lebron James and Kobe Bryant in 2k10. Hes literally unstoppable when I play against/with him online

I think the Mavs are the best team on 2K10. I own with them.

It's always fun seeing Ghazi and Findog get all asshurt over any Mavs criticism.

Caron has never been a good defender. He used to give Lakers' fans fits with his matador defense. Haywood is a good defender though.

I'll give you RJ for Butler (and Bonner for Haywood)... ;)

I'm "asshurt" by mavsfan1000's over the top stupidity. Howard > Dirk, Mavs functioning better without Kidd, Caron = Jerry Stackhouse, incessant Devin Harris knob slobbing... shit hurts my eyes tbh.

You forgot how valuable Howard used to be for this team. He was the perfect fit beside Dirk. Though it was probably a knee-jerk reaction by how on fire Howard was at the moment. Kidd has this non-caring attitude sometimes and that upsets me. And Kidd's defense is unreliable. But the Butler comment is also a knee-jerk reaction as he is just as bad as Stackhouse lately. Like the last 10 games. 40% and under 30% 3 point shooting equals Stackhouse.

Hmm...I thought Stackhouse played well for the Mavs. He sure did hit a lot of big shots against the Suns!

This straw chewing bastard had better get his shit together and bring it tomorrow. He better have 15+ points and contribute with D and rebounds. Sick and tired of some players playing well and others sucking major ass

Josh Howard wasn't such a playmaker either IIRC. The irony is Caron Butler was regarded as highly as one savior following the trade, when all you Mavs fans broke your chairs celebrating such an event that was believed to be able to escalate the Mavs to the horizon the Lakers stook at, but now you convices finally learned the truth as the fog dispersed.

"I don't know if anybody knows, but he was sick, so he hadn't eaten for two or three days. I mean, he had a stomach virus, same thing I had in Portland, I mean it went through the team, J.J. [Barea] had it," Terry said. "So, I think he's eaten in the last couple of days. He should be back at full strength tonight. It took me four days to get rid of that thing. You don't have any energy. It's tough."

Terry had the bug in Portland and Butler missed Wednesday morning's shootaround prior to facing Memphis (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/clubhouse?team=mem) that night. Butler played and had 11 points and 13 rebounds in 27 minutes.

"He knows what he has to do for this team," Terry said. "Like I said, he's been sick, so that's a good excuse for him."

All of those minutes could've gone to Beaubois as a SG. What a waste those last 2 games.
