Ironically, ever since the F You Duncan thread he's been beasting. If I was that cat I'd take credit for lighting the fire.

He plays like that throughout the playoffs and the Spurs actually have a percentile of a chance. That was near amazing considering how he played against Gasol last game. His offense helped neutralize Gasol on the other end.

Duncan is old... the old Duncan of championship years.

it was just a small slump...and emo spurs fans overreacting it.

Amazing game by Tim, only overshadowed a bit by Manu´s performance in the 4th. What a great player Dunca is...

That's how Duncan should look when playing against Gasol.

I told ya all in the post game quotes from NJN that POP was letting TD know that he was not giving enough effort. It's Pops words that made TD start abusing ppl again.

He was fine for the Magic and Lakers game, but he can't revert back to his disappearing act games (@Orlando, vs. Lakers) or even his average games. The Spurs need him to play at superstar level for at least 80% of the games.

As great as Manu has been our hopes for a title rest on Timmy's ability to play big in the paint. And we still need a 3rd guy to step up, Hill, Jefferson, bonner or Mason. We also need to bring Tony along so that he won't disrupt the chemistry this team is beginning to show. I loved Bogans defense, and I loved how Hairston made plays on defense.

Timmy knew he had to make amends for his last game against the Lakers.. he's been pacing himself for the POs but he knew that this would be one of those "statement" games and he did what he had to do.. I wouldn't be surprised if he plays poorly against the Kings..

This started in the Houston game, I'm sure he didn't sleep well after losing to the Nets.

true..

we also need for other spurs not named manu to continue to pull their weight during the playoffs.. and we just might have a shot eh

Yes I do recall someone saying after that game that Pop's quote was directed at Tim Duncan.

Nice counter move by Duncan this game.

Last game Duncan tried to deploy his face up game against Gasol, either taking the jump shot or trying to use his jab step to create space to penetrate around him. Both were a lost cause due to Gasol's better lateral movement and length.

This game Duncan countered going to his post game with his back to the basket and was a lot more successful. This has gotten him out of the funk he's been in since the all-star break the past 3 games. Great game by Tim. Great past 3 games by Tim rather..

+1, I loved the moves today..he also used his left hand more often, Gasol was blocking him a lot when he forced it with the right..I loved how he actually used his strength against him, he can do that against The Big Ugly Racist any time he wants..

Let's face reality here...Tim Duncan is done. He's done.
Let's hope this reverse jinx continues. :)

I love how the three Lakers fans calling the game completely ignored how well he played and instead chose to whine about why the Lakers weren't up 50, getting every call, plus their usual slobbering over Gasol (to be fair, they did slobber over Ginobili as well). They seem to be cooling on Bryant some, to the point where they almost had the balls to call him out directly for not feeding Gasol the ball more.

If Duncan is relatively rested and healthy, is there a better big man in the game? I still think he's the choice. The season is grueling and if you're playing 4 in 5, I could see saying Howard or Gasol, but overall, when they're all at their best, are they better players than him? I don't see it (and I watch them all frequently).

Tim looking great. With a healthy big 3 and the supporting cast playing well this team can beat anyone.
