I will start this off by saying I don't have an opinion one way or another about pit bulls.
I have to ask, do you really think that you posting an article about a pit bull attack acts as a valid arguement? Do you think that perhaps your search (across the nation) for pit bull attacks is just too broad (of course you are going to find a weekly pit bull attack)? Where is your control (if you searched for reports of other dogs attacking people are you just as likely to find these instances)? Also, because of this reputation don't you think that you are more likely to find articles about pit attacks?
If you want to make this valid, you will have have to conduct a study, or failing that, dig through police reports of every jurisdiction across the country to find reports detailing dog attacks, then tally them up by breed. Then count every owned dog accross the nation and tally them up by breed so you can correct for proportion.
Its like posting a weekly article about someone who is a lotto player winning the lottery, and infering from those articles that all lotto players win the lottery.
I don't know if they are more pre-disposed to attack than other dogs. I do know, however that they are bigger dogs and therefore IF they attack it would seem that they are more likely to cause major damage.
The only dogs I don't like are small dogs, and the only ones I hate are boston terriers (though I could fully hate any small dog if it were put at my house under the same circumstances that the Boston Terrier was). Maybe I should get a pit so that it could use its attack predisposition to swallow the BT whole.

as far as dogs go..pit bulls are not bigger dogs...they're kinda small. they're strong and have powerful jaws but are by no means big dogs.

This is what I meant. Imposing or powerful would have been better words, but the idea still stands.
As far as Rachel Ray, this is a valid question since she looks yummy.

If Rachel Ray undressed in front of you regularly, would you eat her?

Whenever my wife and I are walking through a store or something I will say "I think I want to get a cookbook" and she will say (as she turns around) "Ok that sou...." then she will just get mad and turn back around.
I find this hilarious especially since she is the one usually telling me to check out this woman or that woman.

Every week there is an incident in the U.S. involving pit bull maulings…These animals tear people’s arms off, "headlines pit-bull bites Childrens face off," "headlines pit-bull kills elderly man out for a morning walk"…When are people going to wise up & stop defending these vicious attacks?
Never will you hear about a fluffy golden retriever tearing a Childs face off…Chewing a mans arm off…Killing an elderly man out for a morning walk…
Maybe we should quarantine pit-bull owners….Make them all live in the same neighborhood & only allow them to play in designated vicious pit bull parks…

Police: Dogs mauled Titusville woman to death
BY KAUSTUV BASU
FLORIDA TODAY
TITUSVILLE -- Two Titusville dogs are likely to be euthanized after they mauled and killed their
owner, Titusville police said Friday.
Police said 74-year-old Loraine May was found dead at her Luck_The_Fakers_Luck_The_Fakers_Luck_The_Fakers_Lu ck_The_Fakers_Luck_The_Fakers_Luck_The_Fakers_ Avenue residence by her son after
he returned from work Thursday afternoon. She had been dead for several hours. Police said she had
been bitten on her arms, shoulder and neck.
An autopsy by the medical examiner’s office Friday concluded that she had died of multiple blunt
trauma caused by two of her dogs. The final medical report and the investigation can take up to 12
weeks, police said.
The two dogs – a golden retriever and labrador mix and an Australian shepherd – are being held by
Brevard County Animal Service and Enforcement.
“Euthanasia will be the most likely course once we complete our investigation,” said Bob Brown of the
animal service. The family has authorized the dogs be destroyed, police said. May had another dog at
the house, a cocker spaniel named Jolie, but police said it was not involved in the attack.
A neighbor said that the labrador mix was an aggressive dog and did not get along with the two other
dogs. “I believe it was segregated in another room,” said Milton Farrow, who lives two doors from
May’s house.

Perhaps you should explain to us why Rachel Ray, Brad Pitt, Jon Stewart and Jessica Biel's pitbulls have yet to rip one of their arms off.

There was also an article about a Golden Retriever biting off a 2 year old's face requiring the loss of an ear, and 200 stitches, but it was on a news website where you had to sign up and I didn't feel like doing that.

Couldn't you have brought up the old thread you had where we don't have to rehash this same old argument again?

LOL, I hadn't read that one. Funny how it went down almost exactly the same way (except this time I provided examples of fluffy golden retrievers who kill and tear off faces of children).

yeah apparently there were two pitbulls in my parents neighborhood not too long ago that were loose (they were the property of richers in the neighborhood). the pitbulls attacked an older lady and killed her poodle she was walking...the only good thing those dogs are for is to hog hunt. thats it.

You're wrong. (http://www.citytv.com/toronto/citynews/news/local/article/12275--3-year-old-child-mauled-by-dog)
I've worked with rescuing pits, amongst other dogs, for a while now. And really, the stray pit that attacks a child is no different than the stray lab that does it. Issue being, you never hear about the latter, because it's more difficult to sensationalize. Hence, breed-specific legislation by the Texas legislature. None of this addresses the real problem, that we have done very little to remedy the issues of stray animal overpopulation, nor are there enough educational initiatives for pet owners regarding socialization, training, and spaying/neutering. You and others blame a dog infamous for its aggressive character because it's easier.
