... and it's good that finally someone here acknowledges the Spurs have been severely underpaying him his entire career considering that some other fans on this same board are complaining because paying Manu this much will mean getting less talent in other positions... As if Manu has the obligation to always sacrifice his cut for the Spurs benefit. Give me a break, stop treating him like shit, taking advantage of his desire to win. Don't treat him like a fool. He too deserves to make money like Jefferson. Why don't you ask him to lower his salary.

If anything, this new contract is ONLY making up for his previous poor contract. You should add AT LEAST 5 more millions based alone on what he's producing this season.

Manu deserves to be rewarded with a contract, even if, in the final year of this contract, he becomes too old. I've been watching the
Spurs since 1975, and IMHO, Manu ranks #3 all-time greatest Spur ever, behind Tim, and the Admiral.

Sure, I agree, but itīs by looking other players contracts and what could another team offer to have Manu.

I doubt Manu will be here if he would received half of that on the previous contract. Same here, the Spurs needed to lock up Manu. Itīs bussines and there are other teams in the market out there.

Spurs gave him too much, one great month is no reason to give big contract to a player who gets old and has big injuries problem and also Spurs could offer him much less and still keep him - he will never be getting close to 13 per year from teams(many better FA this summer and not a lot teams with cap space), bad move by Buford he should have kept him with 8 mil !
i hope it will not be like the Hedo story!
