I have never seen them give a team so many opportunities to win a game they looked like they didn't care. And did you see Pau and Fisher laughing with Brian shaw after the game. And when kobe missed free throws he was laughing. I have never seen that from any of them in my life. They throw it because of our struggles in the Rose Garden?

3 missed free throws in the last 6 seconds and a foul to give Webster 3 FT's. Strange.

Whatever helps you sleep at night Sport. LA has issues whether you like it or not.

Then draw up a 3 PT for Pau?

No, as DAF said you don't play your key players 40+ minutes if you're gonna tank.

They were smiling as they were walking off the court

Just say thanks.:toast

They did it bc they are scared of Portland, not to help them.

i guess if u make enough threads about this people will believe this :)

Have they been throwing away games for the entire month as well? Or is that just because they suck dick?

I'm sure Kobe was trying to throw the game when he he scored 6 points in the final minute.

That I have no idea about. I just find it hard to think KFC tanked it but still play a banged up Kobe 40 minutes.

They were smiling because they're cocky SOB's. They're always trying to dis-respect us.

Nothing to see here, the Lakers want the Spurs while George Hill is coming off an injury, we all remember what Hill does to Kobe.

They only smile to hide their fear. Just like Lakaluva is scared of you. It goes from top to bottom. Lakers want nothing to do with Portland.

Damn I had to miss this fucking game but lol at both portland and lakers ending there road troubles against eachother the same season.

They didn't "throw" the game..if they did, Gasol and Odom wouldn't have aggressively pursued the offensive rebound off Kobe's missed FT like they did..

I don't think they were focused though..the Lakers clearly don't want Portland..

The 3 was obviously drawn up for Fisher, but he was covered, and they had Kobe closed down under the rim...Gasol was the only one open...Portland played good defense..period.

If the lakers are scared of Portland, that isn't a good sign at all. You play who you play in the playoffs.

you don't play a hobbled kobe bryant 40 minutes if you're trying to throw a game.

LA just isn't as good as the hype makes them out to be.

This. Tanking the game would be more damning of the Lakers than actually losing it because they weren't good enough (as it happened). Good teams believe they can and will beat anyone. If a coach wants to tank, he sits his best players.

Again, I don't think they "tanked", I think they played it out..I just don't think they were as focused, I don't think they want to play Portland..

With that being said, the Lakers obviously aren't nearly as good as they were hyped or as good as their individual talent..I was saying this in the Summer while so many Spurs fans were riding the Lakers because of the Artest addition and Bynum's "potential improvement"(I'm not the only one, there were other posters here calling the Lakers overrated)..

I hope Portland gets them in the 1st..

Sad loss, and the laughing and carrying around they did after the game was pitiful.

The 2010 ECF between Cavs/Magic will be the nba finals. If Cavs are healthy, Magic don't have a chance in hell though.

Out of the three they could potentially get, I'm assuming the Lakers preference is: Thunder, Trail Blazers, Spurs. I don't know about this "they don't want the Trail Blazers". Maybe not ideally, but do they want the Spurs more than them? I can't see it.

I was one who was onto the Lakers last off season, saying they were overrated. I was right about the lack of depth, them being due for injuries and Bryant declining. I don't think they're done competing for championships, but they don't have nearly as long as people think. Next season could easily be their best and/or last chance to win another one.

It's obvious at this point that they're going to have to start treating Bryant more like Duncan and less like James next season. If they're smart, they sit him out the odd game, hold him to 35-36 mpg max and in general start playing through Gasol more. Similar to Duncan and Ginobili, I wouldn't call Gasol better than Bryant, but right now he's clearly their best player. Whereas Duncan is all about team and doesn't get caught up in that alpha dog nonsense and force things, Bryant will never do that and it will continue to be a problem going forward.

So. Play your star player 40 mins eventhough he's seriously hurting and risk his injury further to tank? hmmmm.

When you choke, you tend to smile to avoid the pressure of failing. They did not throw the game. On the contrary, I think they are more fearful of the Spurs than the Blazers.

Spurs fans were more disapointed in the Lakers loss then Lakers Fans. Most Lakers fans here WANT to face the Spurs. Thats an easy win for the Lakers.

1. OKC- Durant & Westbrook cant win 4 out of 7 by themselves, no playoff experience, weak bigs.
2. SA- Older frontline, 6 foot 6 backup center, good playoff experience, Manu playing well, Parker pretty good PG.
3. Portland- Bigs with some good length, avg PG, pretty tough for LA to win at the rose garden.
