With Spurs win in Denver, they just set an NBA record by finishing with a winning record on the road for the 13th consecutive season

Even with all their injury problems, they are 2nd in point differential in the West behind Utah.

I think we can all be proud of our Spurs' effort this year even though they are clinging to the hope of not being an 8 seed.

I like their chances in playoffs against everyone except Utah.

Not bad. Not bad at all.

Nice feather in the cap. In order to win big, you gotta win on the road, and the Spurs have been doing that for years.

Who are the other active leaders in this category?

Pop always said 02/03 was a rebuilding year. :lol

Winning NBA with Mason and Centerpiece in the rotation would be damn near miraculous.

13 x 50+ is due to Tim + Pop + RC, since all the other pieces have changed 100%.

The only teams with a current streak of at least two consecutive seasons:

Spurs: 13
Boston: 3
Lakers: 3
Orlando: 3
Cleveland: 2

Remember when the Spurs started out the season 0-4 on the road? 1-5? 2-6?

Remember when the Spurs couldn't beat +.500 teams, but now they are ripping them apart and basically creating a new "best win of the season" every game?

Throw in the losses to Miami, Detroit, Philadelphia, and the chokejobs in Atlanta and Cleveland (sans Lebron and Jamison), and the Spurs really only have themselves to blame for being in their current position.

At least we can beat the Heat.

If Spurs beat Minn tonight, they will win at Dallas if they need to win for 8 seed.....bet on it.

not to mention the Philly/Detroit losses of the RRT. Wish we had those games back too. We could be in contention for the 2 seed.

They will not be the 8th seed. OKC is choking and will be the 8th seed.

Even better, if you look at our points allowed per game, I think we're either second or third among the 8 western playoff teams. Defense still isn't great, but still better than a majority of the west.

I think it is also note worthy that the Spurs have missed the playoffs only 4 times in their 34 year NBA history. Maybe, that is why we have grown to expect so much from our team.

And three of those non-playoff years were followed by solid draftees to say the least.

1987 - D-Rob
1989 - Elliott
1997 - That dude with the weird Merlin tattoo

So even in the bad years, we win.

Juxtaposing stats like this against total media coverage it might be safe to say we are easily the most overlooked dynasty in sports history. I mean a guy like Wade (who is great) on the HEAT has probably received more media attention all than our entire team all year.

Of course this has been the story for decades, that's why we just shut up and win.

If the past two months are any indication of how this team can play, then next year (with Jefferson, Blair, Dice and Temple all having MORE time to get down the system, Tony healthy, possibly Splitter, ) we may have a very nice record. It all depends on health....

Yeah, they beat us twice early, once with Zombie Manu in the lineup, and once with Parker AND Manu inactive. All four games were done by 20 January. You can't really judge a team against SA unless they have felt The SPAM.

Utah is really a donut team, and I fear them not at ALL in the playoffs. Other than this abberation year, we've just owned them during the Booz/CWill era.
