The regular season is winding down and the Suns are battling for playoff positioning and, while we are still unsure of who the team will play, I know for a fact that I want it to be the team that wears black and silver."

If we don't have Hill, I'd be worried. This guy overstates the loss of Bowen IMO. If we sic Hill on Nash, we can let Amare average 50 a game and win in 5 like usual.

The wailings from the desert get more and more pathetic every year. It used to be fun. Now it's just sad.

No matter how bad we play against them in the regular season, they WILL NOT beat us in the post-season.

Bruce Bowen played defense on Steve Nash like no other. Definitely the Spurs miss that and it is precisely Nash's ability to abuse the other Spurs that makes the Suns very dangerous.

That said, we have a much deeper bench than the people he named. Lots of scrubs on that Suns bench that he is overvaluing and he forgot to note that George Hill is one the Spurs. I think the Spurs beat the Suns because the Spurs play playoff basketball and the Suns don't play enough defense.

Thought so. This was written before PHO dropped into the bottom half of the playoff draw. Dude needs to slow his roll and worry about the 4 seed and the LAKERS, first.

It seems every team is downplaying the Spurs and wants to play them in the playoffs.

Someone's going to get the Spurs.... right up their ass!

that! :)

Did they just list a load of bench players with little experience also?
Also forgot to add RJ has found his feet, Dice is stepping up, Hill is a great defender and could do a job on Nash.
Then there’s Centrepiece who is a defence machine……….apparently (lol maybe not so much)

Also there number 1 offense is Nash to Stoudemire pick and roll, I’m sure Pop will have an answer to that come playoff’s.
In the big games of late Pop has been stepping up moves to eliminate players and plays, a very good sign for us.
Probably less homework was done vs teams like Nets and Grizz however.

Maverick playoff record 68-80. Zero rings. (1 of 3 no. 1 seeds to lose to an 8 seed)
Suns playoff record 120-132. Zero rings.
Spur playoff record 154-125. 4 rings.

Maverick fan has very little room to talk.

History was made. They are the first to lose in the new 7 game format, which by the way, was designed so that there would be no fluke wins by the lower seed. So they can say they are the first and #1. Damn, 63 win season and home court advantage went to the toilet. :lmao

parker and gino do not have any injuries as far as we know; also, our bench is the best in the nba - so his argument (that the PHO bench is better and ready to take the spurs) fails. however, it is unlikely that we play each other this year - PHO cannot overtake DAL in the rankings and it is unlikely that their record is better than the NW division winners (UTA/DEN) so that we meet as the 3-6 seeds.

i can summarize the article this way:
yada yada yada ... <cool black lingo> ... yada yada yada ... but it will never happen.

I always listen to the local sports radio here and none of the smart guys want to mess with the Spurs. They wouldn't mind though if they played them but if they had a choice, they would like to delay the match up as much as possible.
Too much experience and the Spurs have one of the best point differential and plus they are road warriors too.

The Suns have faced the Spurs when refs were fixing games in the NBA, I dunno, also not having Amar'e, Joe Johnson, bullshit suspensions, Faggot Duncan hitting a once in a lifetime 3, etc -- all excuses but this year is the year we destroy you. BRING IT ON.

Honestly...I thought the Mavs were the worst matchup for us of the Western teams. No answer for Dirk, and I though Damp/Haywood (Haywood especially) would give Duncan issues. Suns have always had offensive firepower, so this team won't be anything new. Bring em on.

Velo
04-29-2010, 11:33 PM
Let's not have that same sense of Entitlement like the Mavs had expecting us to roll over. This is a dangerous Suns team. They play a semblance of defense now. Last game against them during the hot streak, we lost to them. We can't get complacent.

With Lopez probably out for the Series, They absolutely no one that can guard Duncan; and their interior defense is horrible. Have Manu, Hill, Jefferson and Tony attack, attack and attack the basket against them.

This times a thousand. Duncan better BEAST as well. Collins and channing fry can't come close to guarding him. They won't put stoudamire on him neither due to foul trouble.
