I'm pretty sure the Jazz will re sign him. (something like 3-4 years/ 12-16 million) his shooting is to important for their game and his unreal 54% from downtown this season make him currently the (by far) most efficient 3pt shooter in the league. (he doesn't shoot as many as in previous years, though)

If Utah lets him walk for whatever reason I think Korver would be a nice option here IMO. of course we won't have money to spend unless splitter decides not to come or something else drastically happens but would love to have Korver in silver and black.

I'm adding Kyle Korver to my FA list because he has one of those pure jumpshots, and once he gets going he can get hot.

And 3 point shooting was a big problem for us all season and really exposed in the Suns series and Korver was a 50% 3 point shooter this season.

He is 6'7 so he is in the height range of players I want the Spurs to go after.

Not sure what his asking price will be though on the market

If Utah letīs him go it will mainly for his defense or lack of. I would be really hesitant to bring another player that will get a hard time cracking the rotation because of this.
If Pop is still the coach, and the player is not Bonner - Mason, you better bring someone you know will be in Popīs side.

can utah even afford him they traded ronnie brewer for a 1st round pick and are stacked at that sg and sf pretty much and got players coming in all over

would be of course the mason replacement

If we are getting rid of Bonner and Mason, Korver will be a suitable replacement if he can shoot in the playoffs ...

However, with Boozer's contract coming off this coming offseason, I think Utah may keep him.

I'm hoping the Spurs can negotiate a deal to sign him. The only con is his defense.

Korver Open To Staying With Jazz

Kyle Korver is one of a few players that could potentially leave the Jazz this offseason, but he's open to returning.

Korver, who will be an unrestricted free agent, set an NBA record for three-point shooting percentage (53.6) this season.

"I'm very open to (signing with the Jazz)," Korver told FanHouse on Monday night. "We'll see what (the Jazz) want to do. It's too soon to really break all that down. You're always frustrated when you lose the last game, but they have a lot of decisions to make as far as roster goes, Booze and other guys. We'll see how it all plays out. Salary cap wise, (Carlos Boozer's situation) plays a huge role. We'll have to see what they do."

Someone is going to pay this guy a few million bucks. unless splitter negotiates to take only have the MLE which i highly doubt it, than i dont see this happening at all.

We need shooters to space the floor and Korver is a great shooter. I'd get him if we can afford him. Our lack of reliable three-point shooters really hurt us in the playoffs. We miss the shooting that Barry, Finley, ect. brought to our Championship teams in the past.

Draft Babbitt and you will have your Korver.

If Splitter comes, then there won't be enough MLE left over to land Korver. So the only way he's an option is if our offseason has gone horribly wrong.

Your right. The only way Korver ends up with the spurs is if they are unable to bring splitter over. Then Spurs could pursue Korver or another shooter with the MLE and hope a big man falls in the draft.

Hey we need a 3 pt specialist

Why not?

Or if for some reason he is not offered a decent contract and he want to come to SA I think he is worth the full LLE. He works hard on defense and is a knock down shooter. Had he and Kapono stayed on the 76ers together it
could have made them more dangerous had Elton brand been consistant.

Going by everyone in this thread, Korver is a lackluster defender who tries his best. That isn't an impossible proposition (see: Bonner, Matt), but do people just having differing opinions? The Spurs have solid to great defenders in their (maybe) returning backcourt of TP, MG, GH, GT, KB, and RJ, so I don't see why Korver's addition would be crippling, gameplay-wise.

And it won't be crippling salary-wise either if 2 of Mason/Bonner/Bogans are let go, and Pop is cool with Gee, Temple, and Hairston staying on account of them being dirt cheap.

I should have mentioned this in another thread, but I'm very pessimistic about who gets dropped. Everyone seems to be realistic about Bonner, and Mason is a true sure thing, but Bogans could possibly screw over Hairston, Gee, and the rookie (if they go for an SF) if he comes back. I doubt Pop will choose to only activate him to take on Kobe/Wade/whoever. He should see Hairston's potential to be way higher than Bogans. Malik is already better on O (minus 3s, but pick and rolls and screens would be enough for him), and probably D as well. Imagine if he plays 75+ games next year, and averages over 13 min. I have no doubt he would get over his NBA 3pt shooting woes, and spell Bruce Bo to Bogans' Bru.

I think the salary cap will prevent us from anything in Korver's salary range if we do (as we should) go after Splitter. Korver simply isn't going to sign a vet min. contract like Bogans, and spending whatever is left of the MLE on him seems unlikely.

Korver won't have any trouble getting more than the BAE. I doubt he gets full MLE, but he's still going to get $3 mil / yr from someone.

Agree. I like the fact that he excelled in the Jazz system, which would lead you to believe he'd find his way in the Spurs', but I can't see him getting $3M or less per.

That is what I hate about Mason, if he would have just hit 1/4 more shots, he would have had more value and most likely that Salmons for Mason/Bonner happens.

I just don't see how teams can see value in him after the season he had, the one thing he is suppose to do well, he couldn't do.

Korver may look like Ashton Kucher, but he is a tough sonofabitch. He plays hard-nosed, borderline dirty ball, which is one of the reasons Jerry Sloan likes him. He gets under people's skin. When he sends someone to the line, he's good about making sure they are shooting 2, instead of getting and-1 opportunities. That toughness would be a welcome addition to the Spurs. I don't especially like him, but I have always respected the fact that he comes onto the floor and goes right to work.

The worst he has ever shot from the 3-P line is .352 in the regular season. The last two years he shot .462 and .478 from 3-P, in the playoffs. (Think how much that would have meant to the Spurs in the last two post-seasons.)

The problem is, he shot .532 from 3-P for the season. Someone is going to over-pay for him, but the Spurs can't afford to.

Of course the Spurs are interested. The only way they'd be able to land him is via trade for some of their non-guaranteed contracts + pick(s) or if the MLE is freed up if the Splitter situation changes markedly.

The article is about Reddick, but Woj confirms that Korver has signed with Chicago yesterday the 3y $15m deal that was announced.

The Bulls are starting to get loaded with talent at every position. Lebron will regret his choice for a long while.
