If bball gods were on our side, Utah would be our 2nd round opponent. This is good for everyone BUT lakers.

Jazz just announced that Carlos Boozer won't return. X-rays were negative but he has a muscle strain in his right rib cage.

I think I like boozer more than most Jazz fans. Lots of players getting hurt lately, just happens to not be on the Blazers for once.

I'd honestly be happy if I woke up tomorrow and saw that Boozer died. Hopefully that cracked rib somehow finds a way to pop his heart open.

Outta curiosity, as a Spur fan wanting to avoid the Mavs in the 1st round, am I rooting for the WARRIORS tonight?

Karma is a bitch. That is all I'll say about a comment like that. I could never look myself in the mirror after wishing death upon a basketball player.

At least plugging Millsap and Kirilenko into the lineup will turn the Jazz into a halfway decent defensive team. Probably won't be enough to get them out of the first round, though, since "decent defense" isn't something Utah's been familiar with since 1999.

No.
Need Utah to win tonight and beat PHX tomorrow while Spurs beat Mavs, unless you think Portland will lose tomorrow night at home to GS.

I don't think I've ever said I'd be happy if Nash died. You're a pretty terrible Nash fan if you're putting him in the same class as Carlos Boozer.

Millsap with 22 rebounds in place of Boozer.

No word on Boozer for the playoffs. I'm guessing he's out for tonight against the Suns. AK could be out for another 1-2 weeks. His injury has a 3-6 week return date and it's only been 2 weeks. Not too worried about Boozer. Millsap will just step in and put up same numbers while making the defense better. It hurts our depth a little but it's not that big of a deal IMO. I still think we win our first round series no matter what happens with Boozer.

Just wondering; if football players, with all that much more contact, can play, why can't a basketball player? Is it certain muscles that are used? Just curious.
Hope the Boozer gets better though.

You see some players who will play through pretty much anything, like Kobe or Stockton and Malone back in the day. We're talking about Boozer here though. The biggest pussy in the NBA. I wouldn't be surprised to see him sit the rest of the season.

MUCH different situations
basketball has constant use of muscles and far less periods of rest during the game, while in football, every play last like 3-4 seconds, then 30-40 seconds of rest. also, in basketball you cant bascially take plays off the way you can in football, especially if the play doesnt really involve you or your side of the field.
also, you have a week of rest between each football game, and a longer offseason. basketball quite frequently has back-to-back games

Isnt Boozers injury the same that Marion had right now? He was sitting 3 games.
Expect him back for the weekend, maximum missing the first 2 games. And they still got Millsap..

All hurt, or does it benefit Utah throwing this game? Will both teams start shooting at the other's basket?

If Dallas ends up beating San Antonio it'll be a battle for who plays Portland 1st round. If San Antonio wins the Suns should try and tank the game.

jerry sloan doesnt strike me as a man who would throw a game, so my guess is they are actually hurt.

They're hurt. The 2 seed could be on the line for Utah, and Utah has to win just to get home court advantage. They definitely need to win.

Wonder if the homecourt refs will be able to compensate for 3 starters being out.
