To me, each of these brackets has merit and can be argued.

I can see Mavs winning in 7 (or at least 6) although, imo, Spurs are more likely to win that series.

Anything from Mavs in 6 to Spurs in 6 can be argued.

But there wasn't anything stupid like Spurs in 4 or Mavs in 4. Or Bulls over Cavs in 4.

So, fwiw (not much), I think each of the playoff brackets above is plausible.

And that's why the games have to be played.

Celtics will need more than 5 to beat Miami IMO.

You are probably right. Celtics haven't looked very impressive (except for the beginning of the year). And Wade is capable of taking a series over.

Still, I am guessing that Ray Allen, Paul Pierce and KG will fire it up one time for the playoffs despite their age. The next series, they will be decimated by the Cavs probably.

sons LMAO at some of these Spurs homers picking them to win it all. are you serious? I'm all for supporting your team and all, but my God at least be realistic! the Spurs will take out the choking vagina's in blue, then get knocked out in the second round.

While this scenario would be hella' exciting, not sure the Spurs can pull off two game 7 wins on the road (much less, in LA AND Cleveland).

I'll say CLE over LA in 6.

BRHornet45
04-15-2010, 06:55 PM
sons of course all of these predictions are fun and all and I chose the finals to be Orlando and OKC, but we have to be realistic about it. The NBA will do everything in their power to push L.A. and Lebron to the finals. no surprises here and nothing new. This is what the NBA plans for all year long and the script is in place.

I think Phoenix can get beat San Antonio this year too. It depends on Robin Lopez though, as without him they're not good enough defensively. It feels weird typing that about Sideshow Lopez.

Robin Lopez is out for the playoffs, it's all but a sure thing. Gentry said he highly doubts Lopez will be back for the playoffs. The one underlying benefit is that Lopez is a way more complete defender, but Jarron Collins is a better 1 on 1 post defender to guard a guy like Duncan. Everything else (shot blocking, help defense, length etc.) Lopez is way better than Collins and in addition is more than a useless body getting in everyone's way on offense, but if one of them is supposed to play the role on D Kurt Thomas played in 2007, it's Collins.

And I think Phoenix can beat San Antonio this year, with or without Lopez, they could have beaten San Antonio in 2007, the question then and the question now that still looms is how disciplined and focused they'll be on both ends of the court.

Findog

Actually, I amend my earlier pick: Nuggets over Jazz in 7, Lakers over Nuggets in 6 in the next round. Both those teams are struggling going into the playoffs.

Despite being a Mavs fan I can recognize talent and appreciate other teams/players...Amare is a damn good player. Couple years ago I explained my ID on here...inside joke and spoof from ESPN message board. 'll be pulling for the Mavs until they are out

True. A Blazers/Bobcats Finals would probably do a lot of damage to the NBA too.

I wonder how the NFL manages to stay in business. They don't even have teams in New York City or L.A.. And look at these backwater villages that have won the Super Bowl in the last 15 years: New Orleans, Pittsburgh, Indianapolis, Tampa Bay, Baltimore, Denver...

The NFL has to be as bankrupt as Greece.
