I don't like that Slam Man. The Nuggets have a whole crew of guys with those same outfits (we had to endure a 30-minute "show" by them at All-Star weekend).

Ok. I guess I will take him back. If you just picture Slam Man as some one else, are the pictures any good? I think they are pretty cool looking.

The Spurs entertainment at timeouts and halftime has definately gone downhill the last couple of years. It looks like the organization is scaling back to pay off those big contracts. :lol Although the beach balls falling from the rafters and watching person after person not wait for the strip one is comical. :drunk

If I were going to catch those beach balls, I would pop them after each catch. Then you don't have to spend all that time running back to drop them off. :lol

What's wrong with Slam Man? I'd never seen or heard of him until this thread, but the pictures look cool. I'd like to see that live.

I don't think he was at the games during the regular season. I know for game one, they came him like a 10 minute intro saying some thing like "you friend is back" or something like that.

the two handed dunk was pretty cool. slam man was also giving away basketballs to the kids. Slam Man isn't the best timeout entertainment, but it beats the hell out of most of the shit they pawn off on us.....

Do they still have "Dot races?"

Pick your favorite color Dot on the Big screen, and watch em race around in circles till one of them (hopefully the one you picked) crosses the finish line first.

Man, now that was quality entertainment.

Yes, they have the Dot Races, Drop in The Bucket (which TPark won a big screen last year), that beach ball game, Southwest Airlines where you guess what city is in a picture and win 2 airline tickets, Nestle Sweet Spot, and some others.

I havent seen the slam man.. but whats up with the muscle suit?

Does anyone remember the old charlotte hornets mascot... not sure what his name was.. but that boy could fly. But... I think he looks cool.. .but again, under muscle suit could go.

I'd always pick the dot that would get 2 laps ahead of all the others, and just stop right before the finish line.

That stuff was rigged.

I finally gave up and discovered it was more enjoyable watching grown adults jumping up and down and yelling at the screen.

I think Slam Man is Pretty cool, I was at the game on Wed. and from up in the cheap seats I noticed an overweight acrobat. And hes in the backround in the 3rd pic. Im not trying to be mean, but all he really did was hold the acrobats up, and at the end of thier rountine they were doing some dance in a line and he wasnt even trying.

The Sonics' mascot "Squatch" usually does the trampoline dunks at Key Arena. But a while back he broke his leg or something so they brought in "The Dunking Ushers". They're four acrobats dressed like the regular Seattle Center ushers, and they do all kinds of crazy flips and whatnot off of trampolines before dunking the ball.

Anyway, earlier this season, actually before the first Spurs game, the Sonics had an open house at Key Arena. There was an open shoot around, knockout, a three point shooting contest (that sucked because nobody actually shot from behind the three-point line) and so on. After all that, the Dunking Ushers came out and started setting up the mats and trampolines to practice their routines. They got everything set up, and one of the ushers went over to the Sonics dance team that was standing off to the side and grabbed one of the dancers. He took her over to the mat, and had her stand on the front of the mat right in front of the trampoline, holding a basketball straight up in the air. Now the idea was the usher would take off from the other end of the court, hit the tramp, do a front flip while grabbing the ball and dunk it when he was upright again. But in his haste to show off for the dancers, the usher forgot to do a couple of dry runs to make sure everything was set up properly. So, the usher takes off at a dead sprint, hits the trampoline, does the flip and grabs the ball, totally misjudges the distance and hits the backboard like a bug on a windshield. He bounces off the backboard and hits the mat pretty hard. He jumped up right away like nothing happened, but you could tell he was a little dazed. What really made it classic was you could still see a footprint on the backboard during the game from when his leg hit the backboard. Good stuff.

I've seen a "missed" dunk like that done on purpose before too.

^^^ Why is the ball in that picture way over to the left by the ref? That looks odd.

Hi Ziga.

He did miss it ... or he was trying to bounce it to the Coyote and screwed up, I don't remember which.

Yes Yes....

BTW, that was in November of 02.

The same night the Spurs and Stephen Jackson came from behind and blew out the Lakers.
