dear lord, I didn't quite catch that he was rank 1 in offensive rebounds per 48 minutes for the regular season.

For being a rookie, he's got a pretty decent spread of respectable ranks in various categories for the regular season:

As Jeff Van Gundy said on draft night, regarding Blair... A great rebounder in college generally translates very well to the NBA game.

Another poster was asking when was the last time a rookie had two 20/20 games. Anyone know?

All the more impressive since Popazit only gave Blair 30+ minutes about 9 games.

*If you know, please stick it in the new thread on "20/20s for Blair".

Blair is a beast on the boards, some times. Sometimes, he simply disappears. The question is does his rebounding make up for his short comings (literally) on defense.

I though the last rookie to do it was Joe Smith, I might be wrong though.

He's been known to rise to the occasion. With uncertainty surrounding the future of the other bigs (Ian, Bonner, and Dice could technically all be gone) he probably has plenty of motivation.

Think about it: they don't want Ian; if Bonner sucks we don't want him back and if he's somehow awesome someone else might outbid us; and if we don't get out of the first round Dice could very easily retire.

If Blair went to Houston this Summer and trained with Lucas and Hakeem he could really improve his game.

Sorry about not having this up right as the season ended.

8 games in total (Thanks Popazit)
1st 30 min game was Dec 27th, the Spurs 28th game.
Ave's
32.5 minutes
12.1 pts
14.25 rebounds :hat
5.8 O rebounds
fgs 47-94 50%

Spurs record 5-3*
*Blair 27 and 23 in the finale loss to Mavs.

Not saying Blair should get 30 min per game in the playoffs but he sure better get decent minutes.

His two 20/20s were against WC playoff teams (OKC,DAL) so take that for what it's worth.

good point.

Bobcats and Bulls two more 30 minute games so 4 of the 8 were vs playoff teams.
