Expect an ugly game where neither team can establish a rhythm because there's constant stoppages in play so each team can shoot 40 free throws, along with about 3-4 technicals on each team and both Popovich and Carlisle having to be restrained by their assistants at various points from charging the court to scream at the refs.

This may favor us. We're an excellent FT shooting team and ol' Bennett is a ref that tends to favor the home team. I just hope he doesn't ref a game in San Antonio later on in this series.

Popovich and Carlisle restrained by assistants, sounds like it would be a great game to me:toast:lol

Imagine the following crew for a probable seventh game: Bennett Salvatore, Dick Bavetta and Joey Crawford. The game would be over after the 3rd quarter, because both teams have lost too many players due to technicals :lol

So at least we know who the MVP of the game will be. Bennett's whistle is the most dominant force in NBA history.

I expect Dirk to get 3-4 phantom calls, just like he did in game 1 last year, and to shoot at least 10 FTs this game
I expect Terry to hit a 4th quarter 3 and do his stupid jet antics.
I expect Marion to shoot several of his jacked up looking jumpers.
I expect Kidd to make every 3 he shoots, since he only misses those against the 28 other teams in the league.
I expect Manu to give the Mavs fits
I expect Parker to attack the lane and miss a handful of layups
I expect the Spurs to miss half their FT attempts
I expect Mason, Bonner, Bogans, and RJ to go 2-12 from 3
I expect Duncan to get into early foul trouble and struggle to find any sense of rhythm in this game
I expect Hill, Blair, and Temple to be unsung heroes who help lead the Spurs to a 1 pt victory.
I expect to see Ian in streetclothes, sadly.

WTF? Not sure if you're being sarcastic but Kidd has become the mavs best 3pt shooter and if im not mistaken he is either number 1 or 2 in most 3's this season.
Marion doesn't shoot jumpers anymore

Spurs shot 48 FTs in that game. I was at work that night and had to follow along via the Gamecast. Had to have been an UGLY game to watch.

Kidd has been a great 3 PT shooter all year. Especially in clutch situations. He seems to make the most timely 3's.

10 of those 48 were because Nelson had Dallas start hacking Bowen off the ball in the second quarter.

This is the best first round series. Definitely arguable as a WCF equivalent.
My prediction? 2-2 after 4. Both teams win on each other's court. At least one overtime game. Comes down to a nailbiting 7th game, and I have no clue who wins. Winner will advance to the WCF.

i guess you cant read...i said Kidd only misses 3s against the other 28 teams....he can still be a good 3 pt shooter, but against the Spurs, he seems to never miss.

Shawn "Findog is sure I don't choke in the playoffs against the Spurs" Marion with dominant 1-6 shooting performance. You know you're good when you can match your point total with your foul total.

It's flat out comical when spurfans think it's not possible to foul someone when they're shooting a jump shot. Does your brains not get that?

The only thing I don't like is how Damp gets to grab and hold Duncan because they are used to Tim playing more physical. If you are going to call it tight, you have to give Tim the calls.

Marion had a good game tonight. He did what he was supposed to do - hustle and keep Manu from going into Wade 2006/Baron Davis 2007/Chris Paul 2008 mode on us. We can survive Manu being terrific. We can't survive him being epic.
We'll see how things turn out. It's going to be a long series.

exactly my thoughts, dawg. It's not like the playoffs of last season, where we knew we would win the series as early as the game 1 was done. The Mavs just won a game at home that they must win, and they'll also have to win game 2 despite that Spurs are definitely going to fight more bloodily there. I decree the Spurs will equalize the series by winning the next 2 at home, then the remaining 3 games (or 2 at least) will be absolute dawg fights.
