Spurs fans come on.This series is far from over.remember when the hornets pounded us by 20 or so in the first 2 games and we still won.this team has way more talent. We'll be fine.Hill will be out for game 2 so I expect temple to play.No mason.

son that is a good comparison, but the 08 Hornets were a better and hotter team than the 2010 Mavericks. you guys should win this series within 5 or 6 games .... however after seeing the way the NBA had tonight's game called, they may stretch it to 7.

No one's giving up on the series just yet (and you might see Mase again before it's all said and done so strap in). However, if we do go down in game 2 that series would definitely serve as inspiration to believe we can still pull this thing out. To add to that, he Mavs are good but aren't unstoppable (unless the refs say otherwise) whereas the Hornets were indefensible at times, but we still found a way. The role players are going to have to step up.

We don't even know for sure that Hill isn't going to play. But yes, that is a good comparison.

Difference between '08 Hornets and '10 Mavs: Kidd/Dirk >>> West/Paul...

If Spurs go down 0-2 they're in big trouble.

And if it does get to Game 7, Kidd wouldn't let JJ fucking Barea take 13 4th quarter shots like Paul let Pargo take 13 4th quarter shots.

Pargo was lighting it up in Game 7 and ONE miss away from probably sending us home.

That Hornets team wasn't good. Just capitalized off of J-Ho quitting on the team in the 1st round along with Avery's coaching ineptitude. Woopdi motha fuckin doo :smokin

i hate how people bring int he past to argue the present when it's really not translateable. both of those situations and teams are far different, both this team and the opposing team. the Mavs are better than the Hornets and they're less likely to blow a series considering they have veteran leadership and more talent and are better coached. the Spurs team lacks cohesion. it's not hard to get. RJ and Tony don't have any drop of chemistry. you don't escape two out of four of you're most important guys not having any chemistry together. my initial thoughts are were that it would doom the Spurs, and RJ was a bad fit with Parker; i then went through a denial of phase, and now i'm realistic again. RJ and Parker don't fit. RJ was completely ignored on offense. you don't win when a guy of his offensive ability doesn't do jack shit offensively, esp. when he doesn't have anything to offer defensively that is all that special.

i predicted this series would go 7 with the mavs winning, but i might have to take it down to 5 or 6, probably 6. but i wouldn't be surprised at all if this series ends the way last years did.

I guess the common denominator is the big 3 (a run in which Manu was totally gimpy). The road losses against the Hornets were MUCH uglier than what we saw in tonight's game. We hung with the Mavs for 3 quarters, we were run out of the gym in the beginning of the series in 2008.

Hopefully Jefferson gets to the basket when he touches the ball and displays a bit of the defense he has shown flashes of at the rim.

That Hornets team wasn't very good. The Spurs struggled to beat them and then were destroyed by LA in the next series. Not very encouraging.

GTFO...

If anything, this Mavs team is deeper than the 07-08 Hornets.

Well, the Hornets were a few clutch jumpers away from the WCF and matched up pretty well against LA. Some will view this as a valid comparison if we go down 0-2 and others won't....hopefully it doesn't get to that point.

the bad thing about that series was that we were totally drained after winning it...it's hard to do any damage when you have an all out war early in the playoffs..

Spurs had Bruce Bowen back then.

They have the Centerpiece now.

True that. I thought they put everything they had into that series...it was awesome as the Spurs were counted out after the early blowouts but the Spurs just seemed to not be able to catch their breath after that series.

Temple should of played tonight instead of mason

I pray to God that after watching film, Pop decides to not play Mason anymore. Can't Coach Bud, Newman, whoever just tell him that Mason is just not bringing it. We can't be the only ones that notice. Even fans of other teams are noticing his crappy play.

He should remember last year with Hill. He played well during the year, then hardly saw a minute against the Mavs when it couldve helped. Then by the time he was put in there, it was too late. And he played really well.
