Slowing down Ginobili: Carlisle said that the Mavericks need to improve their defense against the slashing Manu Ginobili, especially on pick-and-roll situations. Ginobili finished with 26 points on 10-for-17 shooting in Game 1.

“At times, we did OK with it,” Carlisle said. “He got in the lane a lot, though. There are a couple of ways where we’re going to have to do better with recognition, having five guys tied together. Pick-and-rolls are a two-man game, but all five defenders have to be engaged in it.”
