Hate this guy but he would really be a great fit IMO. Maybe it's a couple years too late but I wish there was somehow we could land him. Arguably the best long range shooter in the game, Still has the ability to put the ball on the floor and take it to the rim, And his defense is above average.

sign and trade for RJ :lol

I agree with everything you said. The problem would be figuring out how and where to play him with Parker, Ginobili, and Hill already a solid group of guards. If we hadn't resigned Ginobili, he would've been one of the top targets for the team this offseason.

How much do you think he will get?

Probably more than he's worth even though he's a good player. I think one of the teams that intend to sign a huge free agent, but will be unable to for whatever reason, will overpay him. The number will probably be around $15 to $20 million/year.

What? It won't top half of that.

Money is gonna get thrown around like crazy this summer. Take into account inflation and the fact that he's making $18 million right now and I think he'll definitely get $15 million. If the Spurs will pay RJ $15 million, someone will pay Ray Allen $15 million.

The reason why Jefferson is making $15 millions is because the Nets decided to overpay him 5 years ago. What inflation? $15 millions is almost a max salary, you have no notion what you're talking about.

:lol No one is giving Ray Allen $15 million a year.

After educating myself (somewhat) on the details of max contracts and the salary cap, I would say that my initial estimation was far greater than it should have been. I would guess he'll get around $10 million, probably less. You were right MGJ, but you didn't have to be a dick about it.

I would take him.
