Although one more thing I noticed, Dirk got accustomed to all the tic tac fouls called on him in game 1 and tonight was expecting the same generosity from the officials. That didn't happen. If Dirk gets to the line 15 times tonight (as opposed to the 20 times Sunday) then tonight might have been a different game.

I noticed that too. When Dirk gets fouled (or at least when he acts likes he's getting fouled) he flails his arms and legs and usually can't make the shot. He took a ton of bad shots based purely on the fact that he thought he was going to granted 2 FT's...

tonight the Mavs weren't awarded 20 more free throws than the Spurs like they were in game 1 and look what happened ... the better team easily won. While I don't believe in the law of averages, I do think the mavs were due for a little run. This was a decently officiated game. I didn't even notice that Dirk picked up two quick fouls, but it just wasn't his night. No way the Mavs win when Dirk isn't at least half clicking.

Couldn't agree more. Dirk didn't have it tonight. Against single cover defense he's got to score in the 30s.

The rest of the team knew it too. Other than the late run, the Mavs didn't put up much of a fight in this game. They all knew it wasn't their night ... pretty much from the get go.

Game 1 wasn't as terrible, but it has been bad in both games. To be fair, the Mavs were being way more aggressive than the Spurs were in Game 1. They weren't settling for jumpers, the were attacking the rim. Tonight was a different story though.
