The guy is averaging 8 apg better than most of the point guards out there. He has the quickness of a point guard, great ball handling and can use his athleticism, strength and power to dominate any point guard out there.

Well, he is the best point guard this team has. And he played point almost exclusively during the 13-game winning streak in January and February, while Mo was out. (Daniel Gibson played SG.)
On the other hand he's also the team's best shooting guard, small forward and probably its best power forward as well. So you've got to play him somewhere.
I'd just rather see him spend more time trying to defend Derrick Rose. It's painfully clear no one else on this team can do so with any success whatsoever. I'm not even saying LeBron can contain him. I'd at least like to see him try, though.

he's a point-foward, and a pretty darn good one too.

The labels are useless and trivial. Lebron is what he is. There are plenty of times where he'll have the ball up top, drive, kick out to a teammate for an open shot.
He's playing a point guard role during those plays, and others.

The fact that we've had to invent unofficial positions like "point forward" is a testament to how useless these labels are.
Calling him a "point guard" isn't going to change his game one bit, so I guess what I'm wondering is, I don't understand the question being posed in the original post.

He does play point guard on offense. He also plays shooting guard and small forward on offense.
