Sorry my fellow Mavs fans but the time has come. Butler and Haywood are mediocre at best and there is no one really helping Dirk. Kidd is too old and limited on offense, we have a midget backup PG, Marion is probably the WORST shooting SF in the history of the game with his weak finishes

Dirk needs to sign with another team this offseason...I suggest LA or signing with the team Lebron is on for 1 year at the MLE and get his ring. Dirk is a great player and he deserves this.....I will cheer for whatever team he ends up on as should every fan of the NBA. Thanks and God bless you all

Won't Dallas have enough money to sign a star player this summer?

Get a new coach and somehow get Devin Harris back then things will look groovy. Kidd shouldn't be playing minutes like he's still in his 20's especially in the regular season; this guy's minutes needs to be monitored just like KG, Duncan, etc.

And tank a few games if you're matched up with a healthy Spurs squad ;)

lol at this homer talking trash...this series is not over and I expect the Mavs to win at least one more game and it still might even go 7. The Spurs are not real contenders like the Mavs and next year will be in the same boat as the Mavs...older and slower. Ya'll can always say 4 :lobt2:....but keep focusing on the past. God bless son

What happened to you? Have you seen the light on your way to Damascus? I remember many posts by you that spoke of a Spurs team with no chance to beat the Mavs... Just saying. :hat

I was assuming that Butler would actually contribute like he did in game 1 but he's pretty much a nicer (personality) Josh Howard...he shoots jumpers 90% of the time and is not fast enough on D to stop good players. Also, the Mavs coach...aka Jim Carey has been worse than expected, riding hot players too much, playing Barea long periods, etc etc. He needs to go as well and is not the right coach for this team. If the Spurs win this series which it looks like...props to them they are clearly the better team.

I will cheer for the Spurs in the next round but I predict their time in these playoffs won't be that long and at best will be a loss to the Lakers in the WCF.

Have a blessed weekend my friend

I said neither that Spurs or Mavs are real contenders dummy....no one really expected the Mavs get past the second round or WCF....just like the Spurs who have no shot of getting out the West

Yes, your record as a bandwagon fan is well-established.

Cuban won't let Dirk go..

He's got a player option at 21 mil, he can exercise it and see how next year plays out though..

Hell this year still has promise

If Dirk wants to get paid, he has to opt out, and either re-sign with Dallas or go elsewhere. The players will be locked out before the 2011 FA period, so whoever doesn't lock down now with a good deal will have to sign under the new CBA, and take MUCH less money.

Umm no disrespect because I like a lot of your posts but how are you going to say the Spurs aren't contenders but the Mavs are?

son are you a fan of the Mavs or Dirk? ... reason I ask is because the Mavs as well as any team Dirk is starting for will never win shit. He is a proven choke artist who simply doesn't have what it takes. So if you're a fan of the Mavs, then yea you're best bet is to send him packing ....

now if you're just a fan of Dirks, well then like I have said before ... his only hope of ever winning a championship in the NBA is whenever he is about 38 years old, signed for the league minimum, averaging no more than maybe 8 minutes per game, and cheering from the bench.

There is a precedent of a former Mavericks legend having to come to San Antonio to finally win a ring, and Dirk does seem to respect Duncan...

This may actually become a trend, Mavs fans.

Well, since I am a Nets fan I have to say, the only way Nets trade Harris is if they land John Wall, so you hope for that if they don't land Wall they prob won't trade him

Harris > Kidd

Stupid take from someone who obviously didn't watch much of the Mavs OR Nets this year

Mavs with Harris would be getting chodebloaded by the Lakers right now.

If Dirk is ever going to leave the Mavs right now would be the best time to do it, he still plays at a high level and Mavs are getting alot older, he can sign with a contender now.

Dirk is bound to opt out this summer but it's no brain speculation that he'd accept MLE just for a ring's sake. the time is still too fucking early for him to leech on someone while being underpaid. He will probably do that in a couple seasons when he turns 35 or some, then it'll be OK for him to earn a minimum on a champion team like Gary Payton did. He's definitely opting out come summer but 90% he will re-sign with the Mavs for another lucrative contract, because the teams with enough spaces are all rebuilding so the 32 year old is obviously not a better choice than the likes of Lebron, Wade, etc... and that no contender has the salary space for him.
