Ok... woke up and got on my laptop yesterday... it starts, but wont launch any programs.. or if it does, it runs EXTREMELY slow, so I got onto my other laptop to find that my gmail account had been hacked and emails were sent out to my entire address book with a link in it I can only assume was generated by the virus. I was running AVG at the time, and still got infected. I can boot up fine in safe mode... any advice?? Anyone know what this is and how to get rid of it?? HELP!!!!!

PS - I'm running Windows 7

dont worry about it... now run a-squared. should be good from there. and get a different virus scanner like a mac or you know kaspersky or something similar. haha

just curious, what happens when you try to launch a program? Does it ask for a file association for executable files?

Either way, try this... http://www.winhelponline.com/exefix_xp.com

It works in Windows 7 as well as XP

No... It just gives me the please wait icon like it's working... then nothing. It just never opens.

Im going to try your suggestion. Thanks!
