Wade alone isn't going to make any team an instant contender. Guards cannot be franchise players.

If he goes to a team with an all-nba caliber center/power forward, then yes.

Guards cannot be franchise players? Jordan must thank Luc Longley and Cartwright for his rings.

Wade - who, btw, already won a ring as the best player in his team - isn't going anywhere. Hopefully Bosh joins him in Miami, they'd be fun to watch playing together and they'd still have +$10 millions to spend in other players. I think they'd be contenders as long as Wade's body holds on.

As for the article, this is recommended reading to whoever was the poster who argued with me about how teams with cap room were/were not in a much better position to sign Bosh and similar Free Agents. Just a different year, with more than a couple of teams with enough room to sign a max player + teams like Toronto whose priority won't be salary relief.

Riley has been talking about going all out to grab Bosh

Wade + Bosh and then Riley still has lots of money left to sign more guys

idk where all this money comes from but if they can do this, then Miami can win the east next season for sure

You're honestly telling me if they tossed Wade into chicago along with Rose and Noah, where the team's main problem most times is not being able to put points on the board, and add to the roster extra pieces with however much money they have left, that you don't think they could contend in the eastern conference?

And the argument for "unless he has an all star big" is also dumb, no one can win on their own. Not to mention Wade carried the Heat to a championship not too long ago as the clear cut franchise player, or have you forgotten already? Also, Jordan and Kobe say "sup", along with guys like Joe Johnson, Brandon Roy, Deron Williams, Steve Nash, Chris Paul, etc.... and these are just current players

The Heat will have about $38 million in cap space this off-season

this has been Riley's plan all along.
