Took a break from research/writing to see this one today and it was quite enjoyable. Silly, but fun.

Anyone read the books it came from? I'm intrigued after seeing the movie, and have liked everything I can think of that I've read from the Vertigo imprint, so wondered if they're worth checking out.

anyone notice how the previews for this movie goes out of the way not to show that zoe chick, and never mentions her name?

every shot of the preview shows her with her back turned or her hair blocking her face

weird

They certainly don't hide her in the film.

I flipped through the first TPB and wasn't super impressed. Who knows, it might be better if I took the time to read. IMHO, Walking Dead, Astro City, and Y: The Last Man stomp all over it.

The way Hollywood has been mining limited series comic book runs, I'll be amazed if something like The Invisibles isn't picked up soon for a movie adaptation.

It's a trend I actually don't mind. With very, very few exceptions (ahem, Christopher Nolan), I think that the limited series/graphic novel stuff makes for much better adaptations than the really big superhero stuff. The scale translates better.
