Spider and Scola made 2nd Team. Erazem Lorbek is highlighted because he's a countryman of Rasho and Beno and is no longer the best kept secret of the rising stars (although we already knew something about his skills and potential here at SpursTalk).

The All-Euroleague First Team for 2004-05 has been named tonight at the Final Four Official Dinner in Moscow's International Music Center. And the winners are: point guard, Sarunas Jasikevicius of Maccabi Tel Aviv; shooting guard Arvydas Macijauskas of Tau Ceramica and small forward Anthony Parker of Maccabi; power forward David Andersen of CSKA and center Nikola Vujcic of Maccabi. Congratulations are in order for an exceptional first team that was chosen by media from around Europe and ratified by the Euroleague Technical Commission, featuring legendary ex-players Clifford Luyk, Mickey Berkowitz, Panagiotis Yannakis and Roberto Brunamonti. The structure of the All-Euroleague team selection was altered this season to be comprised of one point guard (1), two shooting guards and/or small forwards (2-3), and two power forwards and/or centers (4-5). Congratulations go also to the All-Euroleague Second Team: point guard Jaka Lakovic of Panathinaikos, shooting guards Charles Smith of Scavolini Pesaro and Marcus Brown of CSKA; power forward Luis Scola of Tau Ceramica and center Tanoka Beard of Zalgiris Kaunas. Be sure to follow four of members of the All-Euroleague First Team - Jasikevicius, Parker, Vujcic and Macijauskas - plus second-team member Scola in the Euroleague Final on Sunday afternoon (16:40 CET) to find out whether Maccabi or Tau will be the 2004-05 Euroleague champion!
In addition to the All-Euroleague teams, three other players who have won awards this season stepped up to the podium at the dinner. Erazem Lorbek of Climamio Bologna was awarded the Rising Star Trophy for players who were under 22 at the time of the Euroleague Draw last summer. Dimitris Diamantidis of Panathinaikos received his Best Defender Trophy. And, in a special presentation, Charles Smith of Scavolini was presented the first Alphonso Ford Top Scorer Trophy by Paula Luckett, the widow of the late scoring champion of the Euroleague, who died before the season. Ford's last team was also Scavolini, and after he passed away, Smith became his replacement. On last winner was also treated to a special moment at the dinner. He was Dragan Simic, the first winner of the Euroleague Fantasy Challenge, whose grand prize was a trip to the Final Four. Simic also received his prize for winning the regular season phase of Fantasy Challenge, a Maccabi jersey signed by Parker, presented to him personally by the Euroleague MVP at the end of the evening
