The crazy thing is, the Mavs were leading again, then one huge defensive quarter dropped their % like a rock.

11-point 3rd quarter. Loss.

It's the defense. It literally took all season to get the defense somewhat ready for the playoffs.

And so far, it's gotten better each game in the series.

...we outshot the Mavs from the field.

I was worried going into this game about that very thing. The Spurs have been shooting fairly well so far, and the Mavericks not so well. In the first half, I was hoping for a bounceback and we got it.

There's something different about this team. Manu's back. Timmy's pretty healthy. Tonys almost back to form. George Hill is playing moneyball the last two games. And, it looks like "The Beast" is showing flashes of coming out of his funk as well. The West had better watch out.

I'm not afraid to admit that we handed you guys this game...No way we had any business losing tonight...You guys took advantage of our gift...

It had nothing to do with Spurs defense? Yeah right.

Dirk scored 17 points and your team shot 42%. Spurs won this game outright. There was no gift giving in any shape or form.

Ever heard of the old basketball adage, "You live by the jumpshot, you die by the jumpshot"? Well we died by it tonight. We refused to drive to the basket and get to the line in the 2nd half. Congrats on your gift.

We played some damn good defense to be honest.

You guys did, I'm not denying that. But we really didn't make it too hard on you. Just jumper after jumper after jumper after jumper...

You should be afraid to "admit" that... It makes you sound like a whiny, excuse-making bitch.

Defense won this game. Oh.. and the Spurs. They won it too.

The only person who consistently attacks the rim is Barea....that said, our defensive rotations looked better in the 2nd half and it attributed to the Mavs taking some desperation jumpers late in the clock. We limited the damage to the usual suspects as far as Spur killers go.

Both teams took 27 shots in the paint...Spurs shot 10 in the 2nd half in the paint, Mavs 13.

But it's cool....it's hard to admit the truth. We've all been there. :)
