Not much to say about this game here tonight other than the Spurs are the better team in the series. Shows how much the Mavs 55-27 record was BS. Nothing personal against Dallas, they can't help it if they managed to go out and shoot some shots, get lucky and make some bullshit shots during the regular season. The Spurs have shown that they are a deeper team than the Mavs. Who's going to step up for Dallas when Dirk has an off night? JJ Barea? Caron Butler? Not exactly solid options. Tonight for the Spurs, Duncan had an off night, so George Hill stepped up with 29 points. He hit 11-for-16 from the field. Those are shots that, when the Spurs need him to make them, he'll make them. No big deal. George Hill is an All-Star caliber player, and George Hill is a better player than Dirk.
So, no big surprises here. The Spurs were the favorites coming into the series. They just went out against a team they were supposed to beat, did what they had to do, and beat them. Dallas is a team that lives and dies by the jumpshot. They still have no solution for what to do when they don't make shots. You can't give Caron Butler 30+ minutes in a playoff game and expect to win. Dampier is 6'11" and is 0-for-7 in the series for a 0% field goal percentage. Lol Dampier. Lol Caron Butler with 18 field goal attempts. Eduardo Najera needs to stop trying to be a hardass and fulfill his role which is to hand towels and water to his teammates.
