1998 - New York Knicks 3-2 over Miami.

Last time a western conference 7th seed won:

1991 - Golden State over San Antonio 3-1. (what happened???)

Both 7's went on to lose in the 2nd round.

So unless Little D pulls off a miracle, they will be the first 2 seed to lose in the first round since the best of seven was introduced in 2003.

Oh and just in case you were wondering, only once has a 1 seed lost in a first round best of seven. Happened about 3 years ago or so:rollin

Usually the teams as strong as Spurs finish regular season in 7th place. We are an unusual 7th seed. :rollin

Just another entry in the proud playoff accomplishments of Jerk Nowinski & the South Oklahoma Choke Machine!

Don't you watch hockey? The flyers just beat New Jersey in a 7-2 matchup.

Hockey is for pussies who can't play basketball. :rolleyes

Hockey's a real sport? I thought it was just a documentary about Ducks and how Mighty they are.

Spurs are officially a 7th seed on paper but they aren't a typical 7th seed. Seeds 2-8 in the West are essentially all in the same boat....none really better than the other

Didn't that series have a huge fight, resulting in Miami losing several key players? Miami would have won't that series if it hadn't been for that, if I recall. Anyone else remember this? Please correct me if my memory is faulty.

Agreed, the West was really tight this year... a lot of parity by the time the season finished out.

Disagree on one note - has seed #1 really separated itself from the pack? I'd argue seeds 1-8 are pretty similar.

NHL is for pussies?

Right.

I dont think so. In playoff they play really physical and its also fun to watch.

IF OKC wins Game 5 in LA, we might have both #1 and #2 getting bounced in the first round...I don't think that has ever happened before.

Anyone who thinks NHL players are even remotely close to being "pussies" should read this...

http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/news/story?id=5132815

The guy gets six of his teeth knocked out, has the equivalent of several root canals, and then returns to the game! I DARE any of you to call that guy a pussy to his face.
